Correct. A unplanned visit. I've spent the last two weeks in Germany after driving up from Spain being prodded, poked, examined, tested and injected by doctors, plus a preparation course from Mrs M's work in anticipation of going to Zambia. I now have problems with my bank and need to visit my own doctor, plus sort out some stuff regarding my passport and driving licence and International Driving Permit. Also some legal stuff regarding wills and sorting out an acceptable headstone for the grave of my parents. All these things possibly could have been sorted from afar but with much time and effort. It seemed to be easier just to drive over for as short as time as possible to throw my weight around and then drive back down to Spain and with a bit of luck, arrive before Mrs M returns and the appointment starts for the builders.

Do you want to drive via Chipping Sodbury for a meal or a night? Most welcome. Er, Mrs Faz is dying to meet you.

Baz, Annie, I am honoured by the offers. I need to certainly get to my bank tomorrow, Monday, as it all hinges around that. Depending on what happens there affects the time I have.
Where you are Annie, may be a bit too far out of the way and I won't be taking the Plymouth ferry for purely financial reasons. Fifty pounds via Dover as opposed to 350 pounds (cos' I have the car) to northern Spain doesn't sit well with me. I'll drive all the way through France in one swoop anyway so I wouldn't lose any time, fuel and any tolls are extra of course but will just be 'back pocket money' anyway. It may actually be easier for me to drop across you in your new/old country as that is actually handier for me.
Baz, coffee and a biscuit and the good company of Mrs Faz would be more than sufficient. If you happen to be there as well then I suppose we could both put up with it. Hang fire on that for a short while.

Not done this for ages! Off to Club la Santa on Lanzarote on 15th October for a week with CLB and The Munchkin. It is a mega sports complex based upon triathlon training. We were there in February and it was one of the best holidays I have ever had. We are going again, again, in February again. Cottage this weekend with a couple of friends who happen to be a couple. We are doing a team triathlon.

On Monday we are going to Birmingham to stay with Mrs Faz's daughter. Unfortunately most of our friends seem to have got wind of our coming and have vanished. The exception is the man with the farm shop. I'll be posting about that.

going to the harz mountains tomorrow for a long weekend trip with our parent-child climbing group. not a climbing trip this time though, but a hiking trip - there will be a 7 km and a 6 km hike, my plan is for a. to walk most of the way herself, but i will take along the sling just in case, so i can put her on my back if necessary ...

On Thursday we are flying to Girona for a week. Ryanair pretends it is Barcelona but it is 98 kilometres north of that city. Girona has plenty to offer (and is not overrun by stag and hen parties), lovely coastal walks are nearby and Barcelona is just a bus journey away.

yes, I know the region a little bit (although you both know the region too, If I remember previous trips) and it is worth of visit of its own steam. I guess unless you rent a car going to cadaques is going to be tricky?
