Baz, I'd recommend climbing the Dom Tower (part of the Dom Church) if you have the time. There's also a lovely Dutch pancake cafe/restaurant outside of the city which I like. I can't remember the name of it but your friends might know it if you mention it - I remember ponds and ducks and other animals on the land.

I'm heading to San Francisco for business and will have a free weekday afternoon and evening before catching an after-midnight redeye flight out. I've seen some highlights on short prior trips but am open to suggestions.

Leaving Spain this weekend, back to Jordan. End of the first week of November to India for nearly a month. Note to self - must get a visa. Middle of December to Germany and Slovenia for Christmas and the New Year.

I'll be going to Mexico at the end of the month. The usual short semiannual trip to renew my visa, but I'm looking forward to it.

At Mut Mee on Baz's recommendation tonight and tomorrow I hope you get a nice bungalow. At Nong Khai there is a statue park with some weird stuff. We walked to it and took a tuk-tuk back. Out beyond the station is an impressive wat where you are bound to get a monk who wants to practise his English.

Are you going anywhere else shrjeff, or just Perth?
Me? I did my big trip, once-in-a-lifetime-trip to Europe this year so it will be a while before any more overseas travel.
In the meantime however, I'm doing a Great Ocean Road road trip in January, Melbourne through to Warrnambool along the GOR, then back via Colac. All up about 5 or 6 days.

I'm off to Annecy and Geneva in a couple of weeks, not very exciting.
However, I turned in my airline ID to get it renewed for another two years and we can now issue our own non-rev tickets at home, so I'm hoping that I will finally get on a plane again.
