Gourdon is the station. Mockchoc has done the journey a couple of years ago. Here is the French railways website: www.voyages-sncf.com/. We are away 25 September- 6 October. Unfortunately, I will not be able to do a visit to Baz's. |

Because it is 5 hours to reach you, I will have to add one more day to my trip...which means adding Friday the 20th of September, and I have to be back to work on that day.
Actually, there is one more option; arriving early on the 16th. In this case, the arriving time in Paris and train schedule should match for Gourdon, this seems easily possible..Cant find suitable return for Paris same day, the best option is leaving Gourdon at 20.00 but this train journey has change and it takes 10 hour to reach to Paris..There is 18.19 train which is direct, takes 5 hours and I'd be in Paris around 23.00, which is fine..but I should secure an early arrive in Gourdon to have some hours there then. For this I should check my plane's arrival timing to Paris.
I could stay a night at you and leave on 17th, but this time an early come back to Paris is a must for business purpose. In this option, the earliest I can be in Paris is 12:15 which is a bit late...
A bit difficult, I will see my plane's arrival time for a last check.

The 07.16 train on 17 September is your best bet but you feel that arriving in Paris at 12.15 is a bit late. I hope you change your mind!!

I'd like a visit really much and meet you and Mrs. Baz....
apart from all another thing; could find the earliest flight arriving in Paris on Monday is at 17.10 and booked that, would be at yours close to 11 in the night I guess, which would be too late..
Checked also arriving on the 16th 15th ! Sunday, but the flight arrives at 22.30.

mr. r. got some money for his 50th birthday, given by my family, meant for a little weekend trip for him and me and a. - so hopefully we will do that soon. just he seems to think a bit he has no time for that, wonder if i should start researching possibilities within that budget, or if i should wait for him to do that ...

I have booked to return to the UK in October to begin the long process of clearing out all the old furniture of my father's house and refurbishing it in preparation to putting it on the market.
I have ten days to make a good crack at it.

He could have it for less than a third of his budget. It may well be in the wrong place and need plenty of TLC plus several thousands spending on it to make it habitable but the neighbours are friendly.

Brazil trip now 10 days away, but since I am flying standby and the flights are showing "red" on the standby site, it might be an 8 day trip rather than 9 days... There are two flights a day to Sao Paulo, but they are exactly 12 hours apart. Grrrr.

Tickets booked for Christmas: Switzerland/Germany to visit home & a side trip to Istanbul to see the in-laws. Mr.Nin had suggested another short trip to Holland but that'll be too much, although I'd love to go.
