I was on an educational cruise around the med which passed stromboli at night. I still remember it vividly. I was 16. Anyway - a week tomorrow, I'm off to Malawi and Zambia. have a super time, leels...  |

I have booked for us to go to this hotel les-falaises.com/hotel/ next Tuesday. The hotel is named after the cliffs behind it. In fact for some kilometres the road travels between the cliffs and the river Dordogne. |

back home now. no next trip planned yet, but i will see. traveling with a. went well, at least with my mom and the car ... next trip might be by train though, hope that goes similarly well.

Just booked to go to England in a month's time. We'll be searching for a new home.
Ryanair to Bristol return was about 78€ each. Normally we just take cabin luggage but this time we have a bag in the hold - 40€ return. Ridiculous.
The other ridiculous thing was the car hire. It is about £14 a day for an economy car. If you want satnav it doubles the price!

I'm going to be island hopping...across a continent. A couple of weeks on Galiano Island on the west coast in September, then Cape Breton on the east coast for most of October.

Woohoo! Today we bought flights to Madagascar (in a month's time), and to Fiji (at the end of November).
Woohoo!!
The Fiji trip is all organized - it's a scuba diving trip with the same people we went to the MAldives with. We still have to plan everything for Madagascar, but I've decided to just get a tour company to do it for us. Last big trip we did (Borneo and the Philippines) we booked everything ourselves, and then when we got there it was always a scramble to get from place to place. There wasn't consistent public transportation, we didn't know where to find drivers, etc.
So this time, we're telling someone else what we want to do, and letting them organize it for us.

I'm (again) jealous of everyones planned travel as elderly dog and house painting has grounded me for our usual September international trip.
Mapletree, Cape Breton is on my short list. It's one of those places where the photos and travel articles always make it sound like my kind of place.
And Scrubb, Madagascar? Big jealous here.

Zibs, you should try to work in a quick visit to our part of France. We are about 5 hours south of Paris by train to Gourdon. Chauffeur will pick you up at the station.
