Hme, you are making fun of me. When we are at my daughter's house we have the use of the computer she now refuses to use. It is a bit like the computers in internet cafes in India or Egypt, some kys work, some dnt/

Currently planning a trip to France in September. Originally we planned to spend a week in Scotland but decided to spend less money and go camping instead. (Might do Scotland next year) We wanna go to the Cevennes (Florac) and do lots of hiking.

It makes me wonder how and why Baz left his car in Bordeaux. Bergerac airport is closer to us but it's runway was being relaid (the airport reopened on Friday). Bordeaux has flightd to Gatwick which is the closest airport to Brighton where my daughter is. It is possible to go by train to Bordeaux but we would have to drive 45 minutes to the station and the journey time is long. Coming home yesterday wasn't as easy as it should have been. I know Kerouac defends France's record on strikes and other disruptions but this has not been our experience. On our return from India we took the train from Paris to Gourdon. The railways were on strike. Fortunately the government passed a law that stipulated that a skeleton service must be run and our train was one of the lucky ones. Yesterday the ring road round Bordeaux was blockaded by some group or other. We sat for half an hour in a jam before getting through. The French think they are a logical people but this does not extend to strikes/blockades. We (the travelling public) are in no way responsible for anything they are waving their fists about so why do they make our lives miserable? Answer: because it makes them feel better. |

Our village is called Marminiac in the department of Lot. If your map shows Gourdon, we are 25 minutes drive west. |

I'm off to the Seychelles at the end of June..
...and going to Scotland at the beginning of August.
I'm hoping to go to Holland this weekend (if flights aren't too expensive) or Istanbul next week (if my partner has a business trip there).

Hmmm... it's a 5 hours drive from Florac Baz, we only have a week. Next time we'll make sure we plan our holidays a bit closer to Faz Cottage !!  |

settled our itinerary to myanmar/burma next winter...
we have a guide + driver and car for 3 weeks cruising around the country... the guide is taking care of hiring the car and driver as well as making reservations at the hotels as necessary...

I'm going to London for a day in 2 weeks time then back off to Asia; Malaysia, Vietnam, Macau and Hong Kong then a stop off in Oman on the way home 2 weeks later. All work though other than the stop off in Oman. May be making a quick trip to Tokyo out of HK which would be nice but not sure yet.
