Any good?
Gangster #1. 7/10 as an ageing Roddy McDowell plays a psychopathic Gang Lord.
Have I mentioned that I watched the first 30 minutes of Birdman and switched it off as it didn't entertain me in the slightest?

Well I would have hoped that with a title like that you knew what to expect!
Was it a Japanese production, perchance?
I watched Running Scared starring that bloke who died age 40 and was a handsome lad and was in the Fast 'n Furious franchise when he smashed his car up.
It's an 18/R certificate and for good reason as there's loads of shooting and they throw a couple of Middle Class/Middle aged Paedophiles in the middle of the film which is quirky but so brilliant! I loved it so 8/10 for me.

Are you as old as Kim Novak, tzarine?..
If Intersteller and Birdman are Oscar winning films in any way then my Cock's a Kipper.
The former is waaaay too long and up its own ass and you can't understand a word that McConaughey is speaking... and the latter is just so shite!
Just watched an Aussie Zombie film called Wyrmwood. Fecking brilliant!

You see the difference here?
I think ALL Anime cartoon feck is absolute shite and I would never, ever watch it.
It's Pap for the uneducated in the Far East or at least where the sun rises.
I find it slightly pathetic that such a Computer orientated Country relies on Cartoons for their entertainment. And no Tom & Jerry in sight.
Oh well..

Never heard of Speed Racer! Give me Foghorn Leghorn, anytime.
Agree with Kim Novak but she is the female lead in the film voted the Best Ever...She's had a tuck or two..

I can't think of anything she's been in to be honest.
She looks like a waif who would have been taken advantage of when on the Casting Couch...
I assumed you meant the book by Tolstoy and spealled it rong.

My word!
She does look like a young Audrey Hepburn @ My Fair Lady?
Silver Linings was a really quirky one for me as I didn't know anything about the film and when I saw who was in it and the advertising Posters it looked like a Poor Man's version of 50 shags of Grey so I gave it a wide birth!
Little did I know it was probably one of the best films I have seen in the past 3 years.

American Sniper.
Yet again, Bradley Cooper acts brilliantly and it's between Born on the 4th Of July (Too much Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and Platoon and Hurtlocker (Too much War)
American Sniper should have had at least 30 minutes more of PTSD but it was still a very powerful Film.
Clint Eastwood is probably a better Director than Actor - and that is saying something!

I was totally fascinated by Silver Linings Playbook and bought the book to read after seeing it. The film is quite faithful to the book but gives you more time to become depressed by psychotic obsessions.
It is the 'Sunday night movie' on one of the main TV channels here tomorrow night, so I'm pretty sure that I will watch it again.
Today I went to see the Colombian movie Manos Sucias about losers hired to take a shipment of cocaine. Gripping and depressing.

Well to be quite honest, Mr K...Just what were you expecting?
Maybe an Oscar nomination for Best 6 Pack in a Film aimed at Hen Parties or a nomination for Best Supporting Sock and Cucumber Combo'?..

That is pretty much spot on except that, no, it was just pathetic.
The men were just dim lost boys with ruined lives. The women were pudgy cougars with ridiculous phantasms. Those two elements could have been combined into a very interesting script. But no, there was just a bit of eye candy for the cougars and lots of existential trauma for the lost boys. What I found the most pathetic was that at the beginning 'Magic Mike' is shown to have moved on to a noble profession of carpentry. But he drops it in an instant to plunge into a new period of nostalgic superficiality of when he was a visual stud. And then the movie shows how disappointed he is in his former 'friends' while staying with them for the final show (which is ridiculous, boring and unbelievable). And..."THE END" with absolutely no indication that anybody's life has been improved.
On top of that, I'm sorry but Channing Tatum is getting old.
(Geeky, I should probably remind you again that I have an unlimited movie card, so I sometimes run out of good movies to see, but since I want to see a movie anyway I go and see certain potential "blockbusters" just because I don't think I can criticise them if I haven't seen them. This is absolutely a film that I feel fully qualified to criticise.)

I remember well that you have an unlimited movie card in Paris and, like you, i'd make the most of it even when the sun is shining and the skirts are short on the women walking on the Left Bank...
Channing Tatum did his best stuff in 21 Jump Street. He's a shocking Actor.
I do have to ask you whether you are Gay or not - just for present and future reference. I really don't care either way but someone who, even with a Free Pass, goes to watch Magic Mike XXL by himself has to have an 'angle'?..

Such an underrated Film and should be in the Top 10 of anyone's list..
Hackman at his best and Defoe not far behind.

More than 'quite good'! Probably his best film since The French Connection and then 'Burning. Mind you, Crimson Tide was 'quite good' as well!
In fact, that's what makes Gene Hackman a f ucking good Actor.
I think that everyone at around the age of 13 should be locked in a room and watch the Theory of Everything. they can leave when they want.
That Film is all about Humanity and Humility and even if it registered in later Life with only 10% of the kids it would make the World a better place.
Just a great film and sums up how facile and abhorrent Twitter and Social Media is - although the Film has f uck all to do with those particular platforms..
Just what is Society coming to?

To see the young Honour Blackman, have a look on Youtube at 'The Square Peg', a Norman Wisdom film. She's in the first scene so you don't have to watch much.
