this morning was the first time i had real trouble with the breakfast: had a hard boiled egg and a cooked banana, and then a non-cooked small banana. thing is, an egg without any bread isn't really what my stomach likes, and the banana was already cold again and kind of soggy and slimy, i only ate half of it...

I have microwave porrige most work days but without the sweetner.
I just add fresh or frozen berries or banana. I would however prefer some brown sugar or something. Never mind got to be good sometimes!

Experimental cuisine this morning, fancied porridge but were all out of oats so used Alpen (muesli) instead and it turned out really good.

We had toast with blackcurrant jam that Mrs Faz had made from our own fruit. It was incredibly blackcurranty and delicious.

yesterday we had boiled egg and boiled bananas. after eating eggs in some form or other every day for a week, i decided to not eat the egg. i am not that fond of boiled bananas either though, so i only had one, and else some cookies.
today we had porotta with some curry and again they gave us boiled eggs... but i love porotta...

MrChoc and I went out for breakfast. Was really lovely.
I had a pot of beans and ham hock with a poached egg on top and some sort of crispy bread.
He had dutch sausages with poached egg, caramalised onions and snow pea shoots.

riki, have you been offered uttapam or onion uttapam? and what about dosa? with or without masala potatoes and fresh coconut chutney?
I had some muesli this morning - I mix my own cereals into a container and then only have to use what I need when I need it. I can make porridge out of the same mix too, if no milk is available that day. But I had organic whole milk in the fridge this morning. I forgot I had dried strawberries... I could have added these to the mix and it would have been gorgeous! ah... tomorrow!

ah, i like masala dosa, but we only have that when we go to a restaurant for breakfast, like when mr. r. and i take a trip somewhere. dosa with curry or chutney we get at home sometimes too though. i think i had uttapam too, but am not sure now as i sometimes confuse names. i know i had idiappam...
today i had some kind of tapioca and after that fried bananas, though.

did you have idli? and if you venture towards the north of the country, you will have to try poori in the morning. dal poori oooh, yum! uttapam are the (very thick) dosa like "pancakes". they are made with dosa dough when it gets a bit too thick after a few days in the fridge.

yes, i had idli... also had puri sometimes... though i won't get to the north on this trip, i decided to only stay in kerala, as the longest time off i can get at once is about a week at a time (i could take off longer if i wanted to, i suppose, but i feel it would be unfair to the children if i just go traveling rather than stay and teach them - i will come back to india for more traveling at a later time, i am sure...) i had achappam though...
