ah hehe that with the not being friends anymore and sometimes not even remembering why seems to be a common theme though, right? my brother told me the other day that A (the girl he usually says he will marry one day) is not his friend anymore, but he wasn't sure anymore why, either. later he said well in fact she is still his friend, they just don't play together anymore. i would guess if i asked him now he wouldn't even remember all this...

These are just gorgeous. I am so reminded of when my kids were little. I wish I'd had the sense then to write down the things that they said.

I have many moments at school where the children say the funniest things but I never seem to remember them once I am home and behind the computer. I love reading this thread though, things like the hairy nuts just crack me up!

Not strictly from the mouth of a babe... But
Neighbour; hi, is that a late year feed you are giving your lawn? Me; (sprinkling liquid from a glass jar on to the lawn) no, it's urine actually. Neighbour; Me; you know...to keep the cats away. Neighbour; Me; they keep on shitting on the lawn, this should keep them away. Neighbour; am I being filmed? Have you rigged a hidden camera?

My friend's two girls, almost 4 and 5 years old. Just as friend is about to leave for work. A: "Shall we play mommy and daddy are dead again?" B: "oh, yeah. That's a great idea!"

Love it Iain!
It is scary hearing yourself played back:
Mr Star crashed our car a few weeks ago and is still in the garage, he left for the station this morning on his motorbike and I said "drive carefully" and the girl fixed him with a serious stare and waggled her finger, "yes, because otherwise you'll have nothing left to drive because Mummy won't replace it. You have to look after your things, OK?"

my brother is currently doing a so called "instrumentenkarussel" at the music school - that is, for a year he is taking classes in six different instruments (a few weeks each) to see which one he wants to learn after that. so far he did the guitar, the flute, and the drums.
me: so which instrument do you like best so far? he: the drums. me: because it is the loudest, i bet. he: no, not because it is loud. me: why then? he (with a big grin): because, when i play, the whole city can hear me.

Yesterday after her school play the girl was singing one of the songs.."Look at her, how and jelly", I said that I thought the words were "look at her, how angelic".
"No Mummy, it is How - H-H-H-H-How and Jelly - J-J-J-J-Jelly". The song is about jelly, I really don't know why we are singing about jelly but we are".

hehe misheard lyrics are great... i went through years thinking that the german sesame street song said "tausend olle socken, die gibt es überall zu sehen" (thousands of old socks can be seen everywhere) instead of "tausend tolle sachen" (thousands of great things)...

I was telling my Mum how the boy has started spending more time looking around and smiling at us the last few days (as opposed to just sleeping!). Lil Star piped up "Yes, he has been very shy but he is getting to know us better and so he isn't scared to open his eyes and look at us now. He will probably start talking to us soon".

Daddy star and the littlies were cuddling on the sofa and Girl Star said "would you like to join us for a cuddle?", so I did and I said how nice it was all cuddling together with my two children, she said in her father's most sarcastic tone "aaah that's nice, did you shed a tear?"

Miss Molly is very into making up rhyming words at the moment. She doesnt always get it right and often just makes up a word to rhyme with. The other day she was cloud-spotting and said. "Look! That cloud looks like a crocodile! Crockodile - Fuckadile! That rhymes doesnt it mama?"

Ha Ha, reminds me the girl likes to shout out that famous rhyme "Wee willy Wanky"!
I **think** it was a complement today. She was looking at me oddly and I asked her what was up and she said "hmmmm I have a very tiny Mummy, not grown up like the other Mummy's. I think you are not big enough to go to work, you need to go to school".
Better than telling me I look like a farmer as she did the other day, or a cowboy as her cousin did last week.

hm, as i am considering to apply for a job abroad, i am remembering a conversation i had with my little brother at around christmas... he asked me "why weren't you with us last christmas?" - i answered "well you know that i was in india last year, and that is very far away." - "but why did you not come home for christmas?" - "because i wanted to be there for half a year, and if i came home and then went back that would be too expensive because it is so far away." - "yeah but it would have been so much nicer if you just wouldn't have gone to india so you could have spent christmas with us, don't you think?"
i must admit, not seeing him other than during vacation is one of the main reasons that make me hesitate about applying...
