Happy, some Aussies do eat roo. It's becoming more popular now it is finally sold in the supermarkets and marketed as a healthy meat.
I have only had it half a dozen times myself so far.
Tonight we are having pork chops and veggies. Not very exciting really.

oh, does your brai not work if the sun is not out. ;D We can't afford to be that fussy here... most of our braiing ends up being eaten inside as its usually too cool to stand around out in the garden.

We'll have a mixed seafood starter; roast chicken and potatoes, beans cooked with tomato; strawberries from the Sunday market (the stallholder says he should have them until the end of October - and he had five different varieties to choose from).

A Sunday market Baz? You are very lucky indeed. I have only seen one other market on a Sunday in France and that was in Epernay. Is it a full one?

after a dozen oysters on the half shell, 2 oysters Rockefeller, 2 parmesan and 2 bbq ( there is an experiment NOT to be repeated) and a bowl of excellent oyster chowdah... the thought of dinner does not appeal...

Iain, there is a Sunday market at St Chinian too. The Sunday market in Cazals we went to yesterday was great. Apparently there are more stalls in summer (but that would be for selling stuff to tourists). The first stall we came to sold Asian products, a wide range, so there will be no need to bring stuff from England. There were a lot of local producers of fruit and veg. Unlike just about anywhere else the organic stuff (Bio here) was no more expensive than anything else. Local cheeses. Good bread. Wine. Chickens on the spit with potatoes cooked underneath. A stall with dishes from Reunion. The only lack was a fish/seafood stall.
