Slow, I wish I could send you our rain ! Would accept gratefully, but would prefer it warmed before delivery. Wouldn't want the sheep catching a chill. Have you ever seen a sheep sneeze? It isn't pretty!

Lack of real winter ? Wow... it must have been a lot milder where you live. Here, we had a mild december, but January and February were rather cold with snow nearly constantly.

the only real snow we had was for about three days between christmas and new years, and then the occasional snowfall that never stuck in january ... most of the time it was above zero ... partly still uncomfortable because of rain and wind, but it has felt like spring for a few weeks here now ... a. got a sled for her birthday. it is still in the cellar, we didn't get to use it once ...

Given that we got 6+ inches in DC with tonight's overnight lows to fall well below freezing, my sympathies are limited. We should be seeing forsythia bloom about now; I'd settle for lawn.

I had to draw the curtain when I sat down at the computer to stop the sun shining in my eyes. Definitely a sign that winter is over.

Our annual flower count is on.. It will piss off most of Canada...who already believe that we aren't real Canadians since we don't have to deal with a 'real' winter...

Freezing rain here today. At least that means it's just right around the freezing point, and not -20C!
But March can be a very snowy month here, and some years it's also really cold. The last 2 winters in a row were very long and very cold; this one hasn't been as bad overall and my fingers are crossed that we'll have a mild March.
Actually, the whole next week is supposed to be above freezing during the day, but below over night, which means a bunch of snow will melt and then turn to ice. But if we actually get puddles, I'll be excited! I love spring puddles.

yesterday was warm, today is supposed to get up to 29 but tomorrow drop radically back to 25 before getting back up to 29 on monday and tuesday... but the real significance is that the low is up to 15... while we were in sea and wa the weather here continued to be terrible so our timing was perfect

It's melting here - sunny and warm - but not really warm. Just above freezing. After tonight, it's not supposed to freeze again for several days which hopefully will give us dry sidewalks before the cold weather descends again. If the sidewalks aren't icy, that'll be great!
As I said on Facebook today, I kind of envy people who get this kind of weather in early March and know it's actually Spring. Here, we know it'll get cold again for at least a couple weeks. Hopefully not -30C again, though.
