well our landlord seems to think winter is over, as our heating seems turned off (at least the pipes feel cold), yet it isn't very warm right now ...

LOL, sorry for the absence, I have been absent on all social networks actually. My parent's dog died at the end of 2014, so I had a horrible end of year, HORRIBLE. We loved Mia, she was with us for almost 14 years. It's been hard to get over it. Then I had lots of work, and I was so exhausted that now I am taking a week off, that's why I dropped by.

We have just had a little over an inch of rain in 24 hours which is a good thing but we are running out of time to get the precipitation we need before summer comes.
Hi Farsi!

It had been melting for well over a week, but we got a few inches of new snow yesterday and more is predicted for today. I got up and shovelled first thing this morning. Sigh.

We have been away for 3 days and returned to find nothing had advanced in the garden. Obviously in our absence it has not been sunny and warm.

Well, they got it wrong - this morning they're telling us we'll get 2-4 cm, not the 10-15 cm they were saying yesterday.

People in the greengrocer's shop were complaining of the cold just now. Our central heating is on.

It's going to hit 20C or even higher tomorrow. Then a cold front and rain come, or is it rain then a cold front? At any rate, on Saturday the highs threaten to be be +3C or +4C (38F or 40F). Yeeks.
