I live on the same continent!!! Drop by! Bring fish tacos!!
Nerds come and nerds go...there's always a seat here. I have been wandering around close to home and playing in the garden a lot...I have recently discovered the joy of garlic scapes. It's a kale and garlic scape pizza on the grill tonight I think. No airplane trips planned until fall, but I can hear the travel bug starting to skitter around in the pack.

Well yes, but I'm in the Northern Mass of the same continent....let's just say you'll be closer. Scapes are the little curly bits that grow at the top before it starts to go to seed. You're supposed to cut them off so all the garlic growing energy goes into the bulb. They are delicious little greenies with a mild garlic flavour. Happy scaping to you!!

Dragoncita, have a good time in Chicago.
An owl woke us up last night. It was kind of close to our window.

are they kind of garlic flavored chives, maple?...
we are busy, busy tying up all the scholarships we've given out and reporting to the donors... then we can ... once we're done we can get back to our main occupation: planning trips... so many places to go and so little time... and we have to tie up our loose ends for peru - where we shall eat ceviche rather than fish tacos...

Good morning, nerds.
Jeff, garlic scapes are the tops of growing garlic bulbs that are trying to go to seed. I do have garlic chives, which look like flat chives and have a garlic taste.

Hello all.
Jeff - in a painful temp job that will last until the end of time, or the zombie apocalypse.
James - pop culture questions- so, music, tv, film. I'm probably the strongest on tv, but can occasionally contribute to the others. We have a few music gurus too, so that's handy.

It's stability and decent (to me) money, nice people. And potentially could be a good career move. Just painful in the meantime. Like surgery, I guess - painful now, probably beneficial in the long term.

if the money is decent and the people are nice then it's worth going through the pain...
