the merles (blackbirds) are singing pretty much all day from dawn till dusk. their songs are really particular; extremely happy and they have a range of sounds that they use fully. Although I think there are some similar but different birds about, maybe :merles de roche since they have a red tail.

Augh! I pulled my gluteus maximus this evening and it's left me limping and hobbling around.
And tomorrow we're having a family visit day, when our loved ones fly up to our remote site and tour around. I have to guide one of the groups and will be walking around all day. Ow!

Ha @ sleeping on gelato. Definite waste of good gelato and not sure it would add much to my AWESOME hair.
Just spent a freaking fortune at the outlet mall. I bought a handbag for work (much needed), two sets of underwear (not exactly needed), a top (needed like a hole in the head but very pretty) and two dresses (one for work, needed, and one for play, less needed).

Truth be told, it probably isn't a fortune to anyone else, but I've been on such a tight budget for so long that it feels rather extravagant to have spent so much money this week (hair + shopping + shopping last weekend). I probably could almost have bought a bloody flight to NZ actually....
