Ivo = ilko from TT. Good friend of mine from Bulgaria.
I've been to Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile and Venezuela.

Well I may go to Peru, since the cheap fares get me to Lima. But the Jesuit Reductions are on my Bucket List so they are a must. And if I am in Argentina, it would be rude not to see my friends in Baires. There are a couple other Argentine internet friends I'd like to meet in the north as well (Cordoba ... but a mere 5 airplanes are required for me to reach there in 1 day from my little city). Argentina is a big place. Colombia ... maybe someday. It's one of those countries I've not had a great urge to visit.
Bolivia and Peru are on the short list for new South American countries on the next vacation.

I will still go. It's their history and what they represent, what took place there, that I find interesting. I mean ... Stonehenge is just a bunch of stones set on top of one another too, but there's more to such sites than what you see.
If ilko can join me, then it might alter things a bit. I know he wants to see the desert, so maybe Antofagasta and environs. For me, the Reductions, Cordoba, Bolivia and/or Peru, Baires, and I'll be content. Mendoza wineries would be nice too.

It's the name that I know them by, the Jesuit Reductions.

Wikipedia says the term refers to the gathering up of indigenous peoples in what is now Latin America, to get them all in one place, a sort of commune, to convert them more easily than sending missionaries out to where they lived to accomplish this. In Mexico, the term used was congregaciones. In South America, the first were in what is now Paraguay, then more were built in Argentina, Brazil, and Bolivia.

I've just got home from a 900km round trip drive today from where I live in Portugal down to Marbella on the Costa del Sol and back. Effin knackered, it pissed with rain all the way and got stuck in traffic in Seville on the way back.

Still waiting to see if I'll have a job beyond June ... it looks hopeful but once I know for sure (if the answer is a positive one), I shall book my flights to Saskatoon.
