There are many phrases that should be banned. Here is my pet hate:
up for grabs
Local elections in England will be held on 4th May. No journalist can resist writing that there are 8000 sets up for grabs.

That's a threat or promise, not a hated phrase.

Yes I hate "reaching out" - sounds like pathetic supplication & now you hear it used in films & TV set in the past when no one ever used it.
"Passing" or "passing on" - for god's sake the person died & did not pass GO or pass gas (well maybe) or pass a final exam. Just face the elephant in the room and avoid the over-sensitive euphemisms!

I don't like "inbox me", and agree with trentt on "passing" and other euphemisms. My Mom hates them too and as she ages and her filter goes, I'm afraid she's going to just refuse to use them at all, with anyone, even those who prefer them :-)

Who said reach out or reaching out? I have to agree with you one hundred and ten percent. I loathe and detest with a vengeance that “reach out” shit!
I paid good money for some items, it’s been over four months and I still haven’t received them. So I write to the company. And what do they say? “Thank you for reaching out to us” ! Groan…..

Lately everyone's calling people they dislike "narcissistic". I get that Trump is a narcissist, and was called narcissistic openly, but people use it as a simple insult now (i.e., "that person is just like Trump!"), when in fact it's an actual psychiatric term referring to a specific set of behavioral/psychological traits.

Run it up the flagpole...
When I worked in advertising there was a director who actually said that. And when he was asking you to do some emergency overnight work he used to say (without fail): I know you've got ulcers on your ulcers but we need this by tomorrow morning.

When you are over 60 they don't care.
Twice today I've been told that and it gets my dander up as despite all the issues with staffing, funds etc, our Healthcare system is staffed by people who do care and do their best for those needing care. One doesn't believe in taking medication, weighs an incredible amount and considers Dr's dumb..then complains. The other refuses to pay for screening because it's her right, yet I know (I executed her mother's will) she could pay for a scan every day of her likely life span then some, but it's her right to have this provided as she paid tax for the 20 years of her life that she worked. Gosh I'm in a bad mood.

cutting edge
Apparently Oxford Street in London is infested with too many "candy stores". There is a plan to have more shops selling "cutting edge" goods.

You could visit a shop close by, (Brewer Street?) if you want to buy from a large range of Sabatier, but I expect it closed years ago.

Not a clue. No recall.
Brewer St, was a bit low in Madames, by Soho standards.
FWIW I still have most of a 6" knife I bought there. I guess about 30+ years ago. The local butcher ground the heel down for me a few years ago to keep it usable.
I did have two carbon steel knives from there, but my wife wouldn't look after them and wrecked them by leaving them wet.
