He's White and a South African Citizen and was well regarded. Probably did some Charity work and donated Money and was an 'inspiration' to so many disabled Athletes.
If he was Black and what happened was in Soweto in J'burg or Mitchell's Plain in Cape Town or any other number of Townships across the Country then he would have either be murdered by now or given a Life sentence.
Looks like The White Guy did well...Again.. in that corrupt Country...

What are his chances at the re trial, I still think it is hard to prosecute the murder charge under the circumstances that he has described, but he would be shitting razor blades.

Prosecutors are appealing the conviction for manslaughter they are going for murder conviction. I do not know the SA system I presume all the evidence would need to be heard again or maybe they appeal it in a legal sense so it is done on aspects of the law?

Thanks for the Link there Wino. Like you say it's more a Judicial Review as to why M'Lady decided to go on the Culpable Homicide and not a Murder charge.
There is mention of 'it could take 2 years'.
Remembering the Case, Manslaughter was the bare minimum and they really should have gone with the Murder rap and agreed with the De Fens Lawyers for something in between that fitted the Crime and sent him down for 15 years.
(I don't really know if there's something between Manslaughter and Murder but would hope that there is)
Manslaughter? Didn't mean to kill but did.
Murder? Pre-meditated and callous.
He Snapped and shot into the toilet meaning to Kill her.
ManslaughterMurder?

From a policing view you have got to tick all of the points of proof to get the conviction, if you fail on one of them it usually drops to the lesser charge. Intent is always the hard one to get up.

Hence I said there must be something in between when he 'Snapped' and decided to shoot her in the Toilet.
Not Pre Meditated but he certainly wanted to Kill the poor Woman when he fired the gun several times.

"Prosecutors in South Africa have filed papers calling for Oscar Pistorius to be convicted of murder, days before he is due to be released on probation. Pistorius has spent 10 months in jail for shooting dead his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, after his conviction for manslaughter last year." BBC News..
Finger's crossed but only the 10 months inside and the rest on 'House arrest'??
F ucking Soft C0ck Saffer Judicial System...

Hurrah! You haven't lost that old wit of yours, have you!
Top Bollocks and glad to see you Posting again on the only Branch on here that matters...
I hope that the World is treating you well - unlike the Judicial System in the good ole South Africa with Oscar!
"The decision by Mr Masutha to put Oscar Pistorius' early release on hold has come as a complete shock, not just to the Pistorius family but to many people who follow legal issues here. According to the prison department, the double amputee was going to be released on Friday because this is South African law - all offenders convicted under the same law as Pistorius can be considered for correctional supervision once they have served at least one-sixth of their sentence. In other words it was not the prison's independent view to release the Paralympian but part of South African legal procedure. Many believe that this will merely cause a slight delay to his early release. But the intervention by Mr Masutha, who is a lawyer, could have implications for many other cases which are less prominent. The decision was taken after a petition to the minister by the Progressive Women's Movement of South Africa, which includes the African National Congress Women's League, part of the governing party. It had described the athlete's early release as "outrageous" and "an insult" to victims of abuse. It seems as though his last-minute intervention was the result of this political pressure." BBC News...
Looks like the Wimmin of Saffer Land have some clout afterall - Good one!

Don't let her put a Ute vehicle tyre over your neck when she's got a full petrol can in one hand and a zippo lighter in the other!
Anything could probably happen in that scenario...but as you allude too...."It was da Football Team zad did eeet.."
Apparently, he was due to be released after only 10 months because "This section of the law exists partly because of overcrowding in South African prisons."
Well f uck me! Build more Prisons you F uck Tards!
House Arrest means F uck all compared with having a broom handle up yer Wrong Un each week - and inmates don't take kindly to Prisoners who have killed Women.

Looks like the Prosecution gets to be heard on 3rd November...
"Oscar Pistorius' case will be heard by South Africa's Supreme Court of Appeal on Nov. 3, when prosecutors will again press for a murder conviction against the double-amputee athlete. The Supreme Court announced the date on Tuesday. The court said the appeal by prosecutors against Pistorius' acquittal for murder for killing girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp will be heard by a panel of five judges."
Thank f uck there's 5 Judges now and not the one M'Laydee who couldn't tell a Fish from a Rabbit....Daft Cow..
I know the outcome now...
They will let the Murderer go and be free.

Anything else you want to add, Mark?
It's been a Total Joke from the F ucking Start - Hence this Thread has gone to over 8 pages..And most of the Posts have been mine in an attempt to get Justice, in my own little way, for poor Reeva Steenkamp.
You work it out, for yourself, what could have happened that fateful night..
Either..
He knew she was in the Toilet and fired 4 shots into the door/her after an argument etc and murdered her or?
He thought there was an intruder/Burglar in the 'House' so he fired 4 shots into the bathroom door. To protect himself.
Now....I may well be wrong here but if you Live with your Wife/Partner - I've done both - Then if you get out of bed, with or without Prosthetics on, and get a loaded Gun and then proceed to a closed Toilet who you think maybe has a Burglar inside and you choose to, eventually, fire 4 Bullets into that door almost knowing that whoever is inside will Die..
Don't you think that you would make sure that your Wife/Partner wasn't the person in said Toilet?
You can read back over the 8 Pages on here but I really think you will find me consistent in me calling Oscar out as a Murderer..
Thank F uck that Justice has finally been seen to be done..
I also hope that the Original Judge, Thokozile Masipa, never EVER Practices as a Judge again as she is so out of her depth and is incompetent...
