In what way?
I've lost interest in the case ever since they showed CCTV footage of him kissing her in some corner shop - like that proves Love and Innocence!

Hang on a sec'?? Is this the Story about the two College Footballers who passed around a totally drunken female between Frat Houses?? And no one did eff All and it all went ape on 'Social Media' of what was going on and NO ONE actually stepped back and thought, for a second, that the Girl was being raped and violated? If so, it shows more of the eff Tardiness of Ohio as a State and maybe the US in general.....If you are a Collage Footballer then you can do what you want...Fuckers... Reminds me, also, of an Oscar winning performance from Jodie Foster in the 1989 film - The Accused. If you haven't seen it then please make sure you do... Totally agree with the comments above.... Yep. And if you are the football coach, you get away with even more. People will get upset that their coach will be dismissed, that games get cancelled, but not so much that the guy abused young kids.

Bit of a Quirky 'Drag Up' there from many moons past, Ninch', bearing in mind this is a Pistorius Murder Thread and not a Joe Paterno 'Fiddling with Kids' Thread...
WTF have you been Smokin', Bro?...
Does it matter if the Blades were off or on though, Wino?...I can't see it making much difference. Robber/Girlfriend in the Bog and you want to shoot them - I wouldn't bother with the Blades just go and do it...

what's the composite on the jury re females/male/black/white? that will determine what is offered up by the defence South Africa does not have a jury system, apparently for the very reason that our demographic is so diverse that it would be hard to determine 'fairly' a group of 'peers. I think the jury was done away with in 1969 or something and our laws are still based on Roman Dutch law

I posted at much at the beginning of March, Divy!
"Roman Dutch Law"? That's gotta involve throwing some sandels, Edam cheese and Tulips up in the air and see how they all settle - a bit like tea leaves?
I'm not that happy with 1 Major Judge deciding the case with the help of 2 aides...
You should watch 12 Angry men.

In South Africa it would be very hard to find a 'jury of your peers' due to the large diverse demographic that we have in our country. If I was Oscar I would rather have a judge than a jury in this instance, he is not gaining much public sympathy during the course of his testimony

100% with black pearl, a 'jury of your peers' would be practically impossible. Even more so, this trial is being held just before a general election and there is a lot of tension in the country. ANC bigwigs are going around saying 'a white...' to deflect wrong doings. He's better off with just the judge.
I prefer it to Napoleonic law.

So you can't find "12 men good and true" in the whole of Safferland??
That is a shocking indictment of South Africa as a Rainbow Nation, isn't it?
I so bet Oscar is liking it more with just 1 "m'lady" to convince as oppossed to 12 rational thinking People who can decide his fate.
I agree that his testimony is shocking and it is clear to me that the sad fecker never went out to kill the Model but it was a fit of pique but it does look more like Murder than Manslaughter...
Funny as! I searched "Twelve good men" and the Free Dictionary came back with....
"a jury composed of trustworthy men. He was convicted by a jury of twelve good men and true. Not a wino in the lot."....Made I chuckle!

Somethings never change, Geeky needs to learn to read .....is is not aout finding 12 men (sexist) good and true' it is finding a jury of his peers in a diverse nation with a poor education system and all the other problems that we have.
I rest my case, My Lady, I am not going to entertain fools any longer

So, you are saying that there are no educated Blacks in Safferland? Should there be Pro-Descrimination for the Jury? All Blacks are Stoopid in Safferland? All Whites are Redknecks and will support a White in a Court of Law?
Maybe it's you and your Country that has a fundamental problem in the Legal field?
I thought that Mississippi was bad.
Look up the definition of a Jury then...
I agree it is out dated but at least there are 12 People deciding the Fate of an individual and not 1 m'lady who may have PMT when she makes her decision. She may also be a Lesbian which would make her dislike Oscar just a tad more.
England does't exactly have the best education system in the World but we certainly manage to find 12 good people day in; day out for Trials..
Maybe you should have shipped 12 people in from England to make a decision on it - it so has to be better than just 1 person making said decision??
His Life depends on her, after all.

I thought that would get you going but I do have a few good points in amongst the sexist and Xenophobic shite?
Let's all recess for Easter shall we and come back fully refreshed and willing to argue your stance!
I'll start you off with an easy one:
Is it better that an important case is decided by 1 or 12 persons?

THREE legal minds (yes she has two assessors who assist her) or 12 people who are swayed by emotion, prejudice, jealousy etc.? I would take the three impartial legal minds thank you very much. And he has the option of several appeals that go through more legal minds.
As things stand I think OP will get culpable homicide if it went out to public vote he would be found guilty of murder --- I have spoken to a handful of people who think he is not guilty of murder. The defences experts so far, public opinion is that they are weak, on the legal round table discussion they dissected which part of his testimony was weak and what was credible, which is what the judge and her assessors would do, lay people would throw the baby out with the bath water.
A jury of his peers, by the way, would consist of 12 double amputees, who live in a wealthy area and have had access to the same education that he is, as he is claiming that his physical state makes him more vulnerable, so to put any 'strong' 'non vulnerable' men on the stand would not be fair jury, maybe women would count, but as this is considered a domestic violence issue by many you either have OP lovers or OP haters. You would struggle to find an impartial jury.
And I really should shut up because I have known you long enough to know that you will read this when pissed and you will argue and not actually see any merit in the points above.

here there isn't any jury either... however there are different levels of courts and a severe crime as homicide would be tried in an upper court and probably would have a 3 judge panel... and then there are appeal courts looking over the judges' shoulders...

Poland also has a system of a judge with lay assessors. The assessors are drawn from a panel of educated experienced people, so Polish Maria told me. And she said that she would be on the panel if it weren't that her husband was a High Court judge.

How do you know that the 3 legal minds are not 'swayed by emotion, prejudice, jealousy etc'? Why do you assume that a Jury IS 'swayed by emotion, prejudice, jealousy etc'?? Please watch my Link above - 12 Angry Men - Now that is how a Jury should work... 'Lay people'?? In England you have the Judge AND the Jury - all you lot are doing is missing out the vital componant - The Jury!! A Jury has bugga all to do with being the accused Peers - it is a cross section of said Country's Social make up so it involves everyone and not that rubbish you posted above - it has feck all to do with Peers. (I'll dismiss your last 'rant'..) The Rainbow Nation still appears to be Third World in this respect. I like the Polish Courts!

Keep me informed will you....
