Time for a snooze before heading out to belatedly join the Mad Dogs and attempt some gardening and husbandry.
Something is developing in the tortuous tale of my injured neck. It has moved on to a different stage in its healing, which is good. I can reprise over the shoulder looks, and perform some sudden movements, but unfortunately, what it never seems to do is become less uncomfortable.

good evening, folks! the day started muggy and then we had several showers, first very light during the market and then heavier later this afternoon. This evening, there's a bit of a chill in the air, although not all the time, if it makes sense.

My! That was a long outage, no Pot for most of the day here, something like 9 or 10 hours of thumb twiddling, or perhaps not twiddling.

The relentless unseasonally high temperatures are starting to get the better of us, and not just us, there are daily multiple high temperature warning advisories and general warnings to stay in doors.
People are loaning out their second homes. Most of the residencies in our street are second homes and right now two of them are on loan to families from I don't know where, bringing with them I know not what. A family, parents and two brats kids turned up opposite us a week ago, and another group at the top of our road. To begin with the adults (unusual use of the word) disappeared to the bar for the evening and most of the night to socialise leaving their unsupervised kids to run amok. They and other novel visitors can also be found congregating in the plaza to socialise and enjoy a kick-about. Since then the women and children of the two groups in our street have gone in doors and haven't been seen for over 48 hours, the men have been seen just once leaving the hamlet by car and then returning.
Yesterday I saw another visitor out of doors with what I presume was his young son. The son was pissing in the street.
Meanwhile, Spain disappears back down the COVID-19 rabbit hole.

Are these people by any chance the ones Annie has mentioned with multiple cars? Have they moved to your hamlet to escape the spying eyes of all Annie's neighbours?

Was woken this morning by the sound of gun shots close by. Realised the hunting season for rabbits has started. Unfortunately for the hunters there is a regulation for them not to come within 250m of rural houses. If they stick to this then they miss out on a lot of our hill which is riddled with rabbits, hence they ignore it, or maybe don't know there is a regulation. I'm not bothered so much as long as they don't end up shooting my solar electric and hot water panels which are on a large metal post about 30m from the house. If I see them I always tell them to be careful.
But, Mrs M, who is never at her best when woken up suddenly, will show her adopted Germanic side in sticking to rules, and will rush outside and shout at them to piss off further away. I then have to advise her that antagonising someone facing you with a shotgun is not the best idea.

Here it is deer and rifles and the subsequent distance is greater, I cannot remember the precise amount.
Hunters were very early to get in their special pleading when the prospect of restrictions on movement and on gatherings loomed into view.
Here I can/could count the number of gunshots and also the number of carcasses and conclude that the safest place might be standing in front of a deer.

When we lived in the Hérault in France it was the wild boar hunters who were awful. They used to scatter maize near the village to attract the wild boar. If that didn't work they would light fires to drive them out of hiding. One evening we were alarmed to see smoke rising from just beyond a hill a kilometre away. As it grew darker we stood outside our house and watched the flames and prayed the wind wouldn't get up and send the fire racing towards us. It was the hunters. They had deliberately gone into the hills so no fire engine could reach the fire. And they had chosen dusk so the water-bombing planes couldn't be used.

that is criminal behaviour, Baz. Especially with the kind of heat and drought of the region.
