I wish we could, Riki! -5C for both of us sounds perfect.
Today was colder. When it got up to -31 I went out and ran 6 km. It was a surprise to me how much difference just a few degrees made. My face was much colder, so that for the first couple kms I had to have my neck buff and my scarf fully covering my cheeks, nose and mouth. Then when they felt good, my legs started to get cold. I probably could have stayed out another 10 minutes but then my legs would have been painful.

Can't remember if I put this somewhere yesterday, or not, but I took it up to 1,500 kicks - and wasn't too tired or sore. So will try that again tomorrow....

I think this is the appropriate place to ask this. Why is chess considered a sport? Sports require physical activity. Moving a chess piece hardly counts. Yet chess is reported on the sports pages.

Pool times are a bit off for my swimming snd water walking for a few days (and the roads aren’t great either) so I will stick to local walks for a couple of days.

Walked to the magic mushroom and back.
Not so much exercise as enabling a dog walk.

Pigs stopped walk.
Not exactly but some pigs had escaped and were feeding under an oak. We disturbed them and they wandered on keeping about 50m further up the track.
We turned back at the magic mushroom otherwise we would be driving them over a cattle grid. I expect they have mastered the grid, as we have seen same or very similar pigs on the other side but no point rushing them.

Foal in the way, slipped passed.
Poor thing is on the track side of the fence with its herd looking concerned on the other.
We turned at the mushroom and slipped by again.

45 minutes of shovelling snow. i have never missed this job when we lived in the central provinces, the complex gave us this small shovel that was too small for tzar, so i became the queen of shovelling snow & the snow we had!

We've had warm weather this week so I have been able to get out for good runs. Today I headed out to do a quick 5 km but it was nice enough out that I upped it to 7 km.
Tomorrow morning should be warm, though it will start snowing at some point. And then the wind is going to go crazy. So I better get my run in nice and early.

Most of my work shift I either worked too late in the evenings, or was too tired, to go for runs. I did get to the gym at lunchtime every day for some weight training, and I ran between the office and camp a couple times per day, so I wasn't a complete sloth.
And I've been good since getting home Friday - a 9 km run yesterday (when it was above freezing!) and about 7.5 km today, when it was -22C!!
