Another great bookstore: Green Apple books. Go to the one on Clement st. www.greenapplebooks.com/It carries both used and new books and is a treasure trove. It also carries some CDs, vinyl records, artwork and even the occasional cassette tape. The kids section is fun and would be a great place to take your child. Or you could hide out in the poetry section or find rare out of print books from the 1800s. It stretches over multiple levels and is so extensive it has two entrances on Clement St so be sure to check out both. The location on 9th Ave is also great but pales compared to the original store on Clement st. The kids section: And one of the nooks for adults to hang out in: Enjoy!

While you're in the neighborhood and checking out the books at Green Apple books you could also go to get some Burmese food at Burma Superstar. It is located on 309 Clement St. There are other locations but I have only been to the one on Clement St. The food is very good and reasonably priced. It is extremely popular so be prepared to put your name on a wait list with the hostess and then come back an hour later... www.burmasuperstar.com/301-clement-st-san-francisco/
