That chat's wings look liquid!
I love hoopoes.
No exciting birds for me lately. Yesterday I saw lots of cedar waxwings, kingbirds, and goldfinches plus 2 swainsons hawks and I heard a catbird babbling away. I see all of those pretty often, though.

No time for birding since our new puppy takes precedence.. And seeing she is a bird dog (springer spaniel) I suspect we will have fewer birds for a while, especially ones like quail!

have you had a throat culture to make sure you don't have a bacterial infection?

Hello nerds! Poor annie! That sounds like more than a cold! Sinus infection? I'm home after some time away and trying to tame the jungle that is my garden. I'm almost afraid of what I'll find in the midst of it all. Shangri La? I have a pack of teen age crows with attitudes now who love playing in the bird bath and tormenting the cats.

little mouse... there are a couple of noisy birds around here... one of these days i'm going to make a video of them to capture their calls and see if you can identify them... i have to fight my desire to close the windows and turn on the a/c to prevent them disturbing me...

You totally should, shrjeff. And also make a video.
Out my back window it's 24.5C, and there are starlings, Carolina wrens, American robins, and whatnot calling. Such a pleasant way to start the day.

have you had a throat culture to make sure you don't have a bacterial infection? I didn't get a throat culture, but looking at the colour of the gunk in my nose... it's good ol' staphylococcus aureus.

are starlings the noisy, one-note repeated callers?

Perhaps, jeff. I hope you can get a video of them.
