I picture the Environment Canada office as having a massive roulette wheel and "meteorologists" with maniacal laughs and bottomless coffee cups. Ha ha! My husband actually works in the same building as the local EC Weather Office and is friends with one of the meteorologists and one of their computer people. About 5 years ago (or maybe even more), all forecasting for Saskatchewan was moved out of the province. our forecasting is now done in either Edmonton or Winnipeg, can't remember which. So I don't know why they still have a full time meteorologist around, but they do. HE just doens't get to do any meteorology. The local people keep track of how many days the forecast is accurate. And, as one would expect, it plummeted after the forecasting was moved away. But they aren't allowed to go public with that, of course.

We had an election in our area recently which went totally opposite what the pollsters predicted. Afterwards, one of the witty comments I heard was that pollsters were invented to make meteorologists look good.

OK, it was a pork steak marinated in soy (1/4 cup), honey (2 tbs), ginger (1 tsp), garlic (1 tsp) and cooked with onions. I have leftovers tonight - yum! Plus I had beer - I am not sure if I like smoked porters but it would be AWESOME to cook with.

And now it is my turn.
Another 33C day is on tap, bringing July into May yet again.
F@rk I just spilled most of my tea on the (old beatup) sofa. I blame DC's subway system as I was reading about its latest travails when this happened.

Hello all, lovely day here. Pero, maybe the subway's vibrations made you spill the tea?

Good morning nerds and dust bunnies.
Hooray for sunshine! Well not here, it's raining again here, but to those of you lucky enough to have sunshine...hooray!
I hope it was a tea coloured sofa, pero!

Hi all.
It's the vibrations emanating from critics-on-Twitter. And I have to ride it tonight. I'm not too thrilled at this point.
The sofa is a medium-plaid color. I don't think it's going to show up. Anyway, its days are numbered. Now the rug, on the other hand didn't sustain too much damage.

It was sunny when I got up but there's some cloud now. Still nice, though. This morning I am going out to:
- pick up my tomato plants from my friend's house - buy chicken from the food coop - buy stakes for the tomato plants - buy mint and parsley bedding plants (I planted mint seeds nearly 2 weeks ago and don't see much sign of success)
Then I have to plant everything, and water my garden plot that I share with my Mom.
But right now I'm sitting on the couch drinking coffee (and being careful not to spill it when the city bus goes past and shakes the house, thanks to pero's story) and surfing here.

Well, 12 tomato plants in the ground, in 2 separate gardens. And parsley in a pot. And 2 gardens watered. And groceries bought.
And the lawn mowed.
Now I'm running an 8 km route to the gym, followed by a short workout, after which we'll go visit my MIL.
I'm feeling quite virtuous!

Well, I cut the run short - just didn't have energy. Only went 5.5 kms.
I think I finished my whole to-do list today!
Now for the best part of the day - supper!

I hope your new neighbours are truly lovely...and also nice to look at!
I saw a Great Horned Owl while we were driving on the highway last night at dusk. It was silhouetted high on the branch of a dead Poplar tree. So impressive! So big!
This weather has turned me into a slug...I think I may even be leaving a trail of slime behind me when I walk. Blah!

Great Horned Owl, woo. I need to get out and go birding this morning.
Annie, I hope your new neighbors are as nice as the departed ones.
Mapes, is it that hot outside?

No, not hot at all...cold and raining, dark and dreary. I'm a cold weather slug. Need sunshine....
