Was ambushed by the government at 8am this morning. Bastards woke me up. Luckily it was to arrange for an interview for a 7-week job I didn't apply for, I had to prompt them to tell me what the bloody job was. They seem to think I have done higher-level stuff than I have.... This'll be interesting.

I like the idea of the government crouching in the bushes outside your door....checking their watches so they can ambush you at 8am. You obviously made a good impression in spite of being ambushed so early.
I'm suffering from bruised ribs after doing a header over a pile of neatly stacked landscape bricks. I was carrying six baby strawberry plants and not looking where I was going. It's not too bad as long as I don't try to cough, sneeze or sleep comfortably, and I'll only be suffering for 3 to 6 weeks. Apparently I'm not coordinated enough to do gardening....maybe stamp collecting is safer...but, oh the possibility of paper cuts!

Ow! Bruised ribs HURT! I hope it heals very quickly, mapletree. Perhaps you should wrap yourself in bubble paper before attempting gardening?

Ow, mapes - glad you didn't break anything!
Yeah, I sent in my resume to be put on a general temp register, but I wasn't actually expecting anything beyond envelope stuffing to come from it. This actually looks like a proper job that pays ok.... well for 7 weeks. And they sounded like they actually wanted me, rather than making me feel I should be eternally grateful they bothered to call me.

A bubble wrap gardening suit is a good idea, scrubb. I wonder if Lee Valley carries them.
I seriously thought I'd broken most of my body, lefty. Getting off with bruised ribs and banged up shins is pretty good. The job sounds great, it's nice they realize how awesome you are and actually want you!

It just doesn't fucking stop - seriously something has to result from all of this jobbiness - I just got a text from my old temp job asking if I could do a few hours on Thursday. I can't but good to be thought of. Seriously, if I come away from all of this with nothing substantial I'll be pissed off.

Mapes, I'm shipping bubble wrap your way.
It was almost fish taco night at the restaurant tonight, but then I too ordered the fried chicken.

Just dropped all of my leftover veggie bake thingy - what was going to last me about two days in leftovers, became a side dish for my fake (quorn) sausages.
Now to procrastinate for an hour while I watch Charmed, before starting my preparation for tomorrow's interview.

Good luck, lefty!
Following on from fried chicken night is fried chicken day...we each had three pieces of friend chicken and only ate 1.25 'coz we had to save room for the desert (brownie+ for her, banana split for me).

Good morning! Fried chicken and brownie night/day sounds like a great plan!
I'm up early with sore ribs. Coffee and toast with apricot jam is helping the pain. It's very cold here this morning, but at least it didn't snow. Worst..spring...ever! No gardening for me today, I'll sit quietly by the fire and knit little hats for the poor cold birds.

oh! a fellow knitter! maples, will you knit birdie blankies for their nests?

A kindred knitting spirit! Sure, good idea! They might just prefer it if I left bits of yarn lying around for them to knit into their own nests. I'm thinking maybe bird cozies would be a good idea this spring.

lol.. there are other knitters out there!... i have been given a ton of mismatched, horrible, cheap, odd coloured non wool knitting stuff. it kept me busy for a couple of weeks, knitting a 12 foot long Dr. Who scarf. I love it. But when someone saw it, they requested one as well.... and dumped another lot of cheap, odd coloured synthetic wool on me...busy fingers and all that. fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/481381_10151432772013224_1822196119_n.jpg can't figure out how to insert a photo...

A 12 foot long Dr. Who scarf sounds wonderful! I usually have some knitting or crocheting on the go. It helps take the guilt out of my Coronation Street addiction if I'm producing something useful while watching it.

Well, here at work we had no power from 2 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. And then back in my room at camp (where we had power most of the time) my computer wouldn't access the internet.
And Monday night my computer still wouldn't access the internet.
And today the power went out at work again at 2 p.m. and was still off at 7:30 p.m.
It's been a weird few days. I'm glad I'm going home tomorrow.

Oh, and did I forget to mention that on Sunday it was raining before work, then blizzarded most of the day, and finally the sun came out in the evening.
