I don’t know any film I’ve seen with Jet Li in it. Then again, I haven’t heard of Jet Li. I came late to Asian fighting skills, was never really interested in them before! Having Netflix has broadened my horizon. Currently am watching Judge Dee’s Mystery. Chinese series set some hundreds of years ago.
Since Netflix, I find I am very interested in foreign programs that is non-English speaking films and series. South Korean ones are at the top of my list, especially sageuks. A sageuk is a show set in Joseon times which is the last dynasty from 1392 to 1897.
Japanese, Taiwanese, Vietnamese also. I do find Chinese programs hard on the ears though, the language assaults my aural skills.
Have also watched some Saudi Arabian films which I enjoyed immensely.
How many others enjoy foreign language programs?

We got rid of our TV. Yes, we are the only people you probably know without one. We can watch stuff on our computers if need be.

Guess what, Baz ? you know another one - me. I don't have one in Maine. I confess I have one down here, as cable comes with the condo fee, so I do watch the news, Antiques Roadshow, and Finding your Roots, and the odd special.

I watch very little tv. We have two.. mostly used for news and sports. And music. That will probably change after I have my surgery.

We also don't have one. Neither in the apartment in Germany or the Spain house. When we've been abroad and rented somewhere it usually comes with a TV but we never watch it anyway.

I have never bought a TV set. there is a TV at my mom's and she enjoys her games etc, but is telling me she watches less and less TV in the evenings. Instead, she reads.
When I was growing up, there was only the swiss television (three channels, each in one of the official languages of the country), but the town I grew up in was at the time one where they piloted cable, so by the time I was adolescent, we could see all the French, German, Austrian, Italian channels, also MTV. then later came the spanish and portuguese, etc channels.
Here in Europe, we are lucky that there are many crosscultural collaborations for film, etc. and ARTE the european TV channel, is encouraging this. lots of collaborations between the french and italian film industries. look at several films featuring Alain Delon, or Cinema Paradiso with Philippe Noiret.

I have one tv. It works when I find the remote. I'm a reader so it's news, a few programmes if I remember. It's old so chrome cast is used for seldom used excercise programs. I'd miss it if I didn't have it, but it's not a must in my life. .

we have tv as part of our internet subscription... would go months without turning it on until covid... now we watch some cooking shows... does watching english shows in israel count as foreign language shows? the cat waits avidly for us to watch some tv so she can cuddle on my lap... oh well... i have developed an allergy to tv news programs with their repeating sound bites, superficiality etc. so get our news from reading trusted news sites on-line...

As I said, we don't have a TV. The only time we watch anything is when we stay with my daughter. After dinner she puts o something she feels we ought to see.

It's amazing how un-tv'd this group is - I think it must be quite rare for this many people to not have or use one.
