The only train for which you have to pay a supplement is the Glacier Express. for a short leg, the supplement is around CHF 39.00 (per leg, per person). Well... if you take regional trains, you get on similar trains, also with panoramic windows, so unless you want the experience and a slightly smarter carriage with on-board catering... take the regional train!

Annie, isn’t the supplement for your seat reservation? I remember my reservation for the Bernina Express included a supplement. It was an awesome trip - Alp Grüm and hot drinks!

The information above was from the ticket office/information centre. they have streamlined/changed things a bit. and I found it's slightly cheaper to travel to, say Zermatt, nowadays. (CHF 50.-- return with the half fare card).
