I was going through an old baking cookbook. To tell you how old it is, Marks & Spencer wasn't yet Marks & Spencer. Yes, a British reference as it is a British cookbook.
When my sister was 17, she spent 6 months in southwest England to learn english. Her host family served turkey for lunch and dinner seven days a week, so she resorted to have cream tea most days at a nearby tearoom, so she could say she wasn't very hungry. She bought the book.
Anyway, I'm sure Mrs Faz has such a recipe to hand(the no-flour fruit cake), should she fancy some?
Should anyone be interested, I can give directions and ingredients in both metric and imperial figures.

I told Mrs Faz but she shook her head sadly. Dried fruits are something she doesn't like (exception: I sneak in a few currants into a topping for aubergine). Christmas is for her a bad time because people keep offering her mince pies, Christmas cake and Christmas pudding.
