The UK Prime Minister faces serious crises about which he favours doing Sweet Fanny Adams.
For his top priority is surviving the existential threat that comes from the watching and waiting bench potatoes that sit behind him in the House of Commons.
Just one more demonstration that he is not "one of us", a brain dead extremist, might bring him down.
After all, Liz had it right, it was just a presentational error.

Geoffrey M. Young appears to be a Democratic hopeful hopeless for election as the Governor of Kentucky From TwitterAnd this is how it reads in Pravda (automatically translated from Russian) This is not a rare example, Russian media often quote US and other nation's experts and politicians if their comments assist their propaganda needs. Unfortunately talking heads are much like Russian Infantrymen, there are always more of them.

The current UK government has at most two years left to run, two too long years.
Having little prospect of success in reaching its goals, those bright Brexit achievements it promised, it embarks on the nutter's exit, Scorched Earth..
Not being able to win, it destroys what it despises, Public Services, and public service in general.
It does not believe in the concept of public service beyond the electoral benefits of an empty espousal of it.
Some talking heads wonder why the government fails to act to do anything to resolve the current crippling tide of destructive public service employment disputes.
This is no accident, no oversight, it is an intentional apathy. It is their belief system writ large.
Biding time until the cripple's destruction is complete and the Public Services are no more.
Better to oust them now.

They will hang on for grim death, no matter how many ministers and prime ministers they have to jettison.
I suppose giving Gunpowder another try might work.
Mass civil disobedience.
One trouble is that many people stopped believing in the common good and collective action, preferring pursuit of elusive and illusory individual goals.
I added "oust them" as an afterthought. Optimistic I am not.

slow how are the strikes going? Regarding the NHS The strikes are ongoing. The workers representatives want to discuss pay. The government refuses to discuss pay. The government insists that the pay review board recommendations are set in stone. The government insists that the pay review board is independent. Each year the government sends the pay review board a remit letter, i.e. they aren't independent. For most of the last 12 years that remit directed no more than a 1% increment. The last remit stated that the budget was already set for the coming years and that is all there is, or will be. Not exactly independent. The government is introducing legislation to force named individuals to work on strike days else face summary dismissal. It is doubtful that such legislation would be legal and is likely just showboating to its base support. BTB the chaos in the NHS is nothing to do with the government. The consultant led treatment waiting list which has been growing since 2010 and currently stands at 7.2 million patients waiting for treatment (up from about 2.5 million in 2010) has been renamed as the Covid Backlog, so that's fixed that problem. There is very little Main Stream Media push back against such government propaganda statements. If you want to know most of the above you have to ask someone with unlearning difficulties.

this from an Op_Ed column in today's NYT -- so perfect ! " The G.O.P. should be renamed B.T.P., for Bermuda Triangle Party. Enter it, weird stuff happens, and you go straight to the bottom." and a bit later in the same article , " What else is there to say about McCarthy? He’s a follower of Marx — Groucho, that is. “These are my principles. If you don’t like them, I have others.”

According to the Beeb: Dominic Raab, having been sacked as both the UK Deputy Prime minister and Justice Secretary, was reappointed by the current Prime Minister to both roles despite numerous allegations and formal complaints of his bullying. He denies such behaviour in the following terms: Yet bizarrely: How exactly do you modify your alleged behaviour?

Some of this is beyond me but it reads like a broad spectrum of abuse. Most obviously the abused women and children, but also of status, celebrity, power, ....
The former had little or no choice; the latter, those that granted status, celebrity, and power who volunteered their support are culpable.

I wasn’t going to speak about political jokes because I’ve seen too many get elected!
A robber held up a well-dressed man, pointing his gun and yelling, “Give me all your money!” The man replied, “Don’t you know who I am? I’m a U.S. congressman!” The robber retorted, “In that case, give me all my money!”
Q: Why can’t Congress ever be vegan? A: Because all the turkeys playing chicken in a beef over pork is pretty fishy.
Q: What do you call a bad lawyer? A: Senator.

The BBC's TV/Radio sports coverage is in chaos, the presenters won't present, and the talking heads won't talk, and programming is being pulled. This is in protest against the suspension of presenter Gary Lineker at the governments behest after he criticised government asylum policy and government language. We now have BBC news presenters giving the stock phrase "we have asked the ... for comment" but are leaving off the "but we have not received a reply so it goes. We have ask the BBC for comment. (silence) Move on to next item.
And on their news website:
