I never really like my handwriting skills so by accident I've found some articles about different styles, where handwriting comes from historically and how the different styles have developed from there.
I've learned that the technique taught in anglo-saxon countries comes from another base than that we learn here. Therefore adult writings looks different too.
As I've always liked the UK/US style I'm teaching that myself now. I have paper from the second schoolyear and a thick pen that kids learn writing with.
But I only have one text from "Alfred Fairbanks Chancery" (that's the fonts/styles founder and is what's taught in the UK/US). Do we have any teachers here? Anyone who could supply me with text examples? Anything you remember being taught in school how to write certain letters?
I'm so curious where this'll go.

Why don't you start by switching hands and see what happens? My writing looks pretty different when done with the left hand.

At my school we teach our own style of handwriting (it's obviously been pinched from somewhere, but I don't know where). It does look really nice when formed correctly. Since working at the school, my handwriting has definately changed to look more like it.
I might be able to find something about it to scan over to you if you like?

Why would you want to change your handwriting? IMHO, one's handwriting is characteristic and part of your personality.
But I'd be interested in the links that you found about all this different handwriting-teaching-techniques!

default - great, thanks!
mini - yes please, that would be lovely!
siduri - just because I don't like it. It looks like a mess, especially when I'm writing very fast. And it looks so irregular. I'll find those links again for you!

I learnt the kind default shows above - and after they taught us to connect the small letters with that Up-curve at the end of the letter - they stopped. and let us just develop our own style. Mine looks pretty nice if I'm going slowly, but impossible if going fast - sometimes even for me to read back.. oh well.

I've done that but that's a REAL pain in the butt. ;-) I think you've put the pen in the wrong place.
