In the winter, we keep our house at 18C when we sleep and 20C when we are home and awake. If it is tremendously cold outside we knock a degree off. My last office was normally at about 23-24C.

Hi Hedonista. thanks for the offer. You certainly live in a very special country. I managed to get her around using the trams and the funicular and the occasional taxi so all went well and the weather is no where near as bad as yesterday although there was a reasonable sized tree spread all over a set of cafe chairs and umbrellas doing Mary Poppins acts all over the place.

It's feeling much warmer here yesterday and today - though it's still below -30C, there's been very little wind. What a difference that makes!
So:
6:17 p.m. -32C but only -37C with the windchill Middle of nowhere, SK

I've finally got to the point of the summer where 30C seems quite mild.

0530 near DC -7C (+18F) yesterday's high was only -3C; that's what the average low is for this time of year. And it actually snowed overnight! Not too much, perhaps 2 cm? Less? It's the most snow all winter.

I've moved onto Paris and delighted to find the flat nice and warm. Having a me day to gather up the courage to go outside into 1 degree. I'm not used to that sort of temp and really not organised clothes wise.

kuskiwi - what part of Paris are you staying in? Are you in an arrondisement?
(I'm just being nosy because I lived there last year and miss it! Hope you're having a lovely stay, whatever area you're in.)
