So he is going to tax the rich so they all leave France and domicile their businesses and personal earnings/wealth elsewhere, very clever M. Hollande...
And lower the retirement age, where is all the money going to come from you idiot?

Thank you for that fine political analysis. Lucky you, risking nothing in Portugal.

I'm risking everything here in Portugal and in other countries where I work. I am doing my best to survive in the face of the shit situation we are in here in Europe. But I fear that this French result will be bad for all. It's the risk takers who create progress and if Hollande intends to scare them all out of France he is making a big mistake.

For me it is a good day to see that maybe the awful right wing trend in the UK, that seems to have turned my fellow countrymen into scared, selfish, xenophobic Daily Mail readers isn't irreversible.

Daily Mail readers have always been scared, selfish, xenophobics... I see the current UK government as being no more right wing than Blair was, its all centre right politics IMO

Unfortunately the current lot seem to have everyone, not just Mail readers, that everyone else is after their money. That the country is full of single parents, foreigners, nurses and teachers draining the coffers and the only way to save us all is to make the poor poorer and the rich richer. Destroy the NHS, screw the education system and cut public services.
People who I have always thought sane come out with this crap lately. I've been screamed at in public last week for draining taxpayers money having so many kids (2, I take no taxpayers money - I pay alot of tax). This is the climate that is being created.
Oh and the greatest Jedi mind trick is that they are no different from Labour, they are all centre. The only difference is they are saving us from the brink of disaster. It is funny if not so desperately sad.

Tinny, only the closing figures of the day count, not the intermediate ones. This said, the markets all went down today because of Greece.

I'm with you there Tilly but it sounds to me like your views are not so left wing after all.
In my opinion, the country (applies to France just like the UK) should welcome all foreigners who are willing to get off their asses and work. Foreigners who come to sponge off the government should not be allowed in and if they have no work permit (or sufficient savings to support themselves) they should be deported. Lots of countries work like this and it works.
But the biggest problem is the lazy British masses who refuse to do the dirty work and live the high life on benefits.
And no, I am not a Daily Mail reader...

Daily/Sunday Sport I bet, Hedon'! I was going to OP about the following, slightly off topic subject but rather than use up valuable Pot Bandwidth will ask here... Any thoughts? www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-18004153 ... "Mohammed Shafiq, of the Ramadhan Foundation, which aims to promote better understanding between Muslims and non-Muslims, said: "Clearly, as members of the Pakistani community we've got to say to ourselves, yes, we've got a problem. We've got a problem because these people think white girls are worthless, they think they can use these girls." In the light of this and the, apparent rise in the Far Right in England, has/is Multiculturalism worked/working?... Or is it only for certain Cultures....

Lots of countries work like this and it works. All of the "old" countries of Europe need lots of immigrants to do the hard work. The people in charge know this but they can't say it publicly because too many voters are against the idea. What I find pathetic is that rather than trying to educate the constituents about the necessity and great benefits of having more immigrants (young, not burdening the health services, paying large amounts into social charges including unemployment), they pretend to agree with the most xenophobic elements and say that the fewer immigrants the better, because they are not really worth the effort. What a load of bullshit.

British Pakistanis (Urdu: ÈÑØÇäæی ǘÓÊÇäی; also known as Pakistani British people or Pakistani Britons)
So...
I think that if you asked them who they were they would say that they were Pakistanis in England...Cricket? Pakistan..
Anyway, your thoughts on the above news article would be nice...or are you going to take the pi55 all the time as it asks a serious question that, just maybe, you don't want to answer?...

..Oh! And by the way...
You put 'Pakistanis Jailed' into Google and you get the following....
'Nine Pakistanis jailed for Gang Rape'.....
You ok with still having a laugh about it?...

Post by Tilly Star on May 10, 2012 22:03:20 GMT 2
I'm not laughing, but I am not sure what your point is on the google thing? Have you tried putting "Exeter Man Jailed" in there?
Good luck asking "them" how they see themselves as there are currently about 1 million British Pakistanis in the UK and I am not sure they'll all have the same answer so make take a while going round collecting all your answers.

It pains me to side with Grecs BUT it is NOT a hate crime to refer to someone of Pakistani origin as a Pakistani. No more than it would be to refer to me as a Scotsman. Try visiting Blackburn or Burnley or Bradford, see how the overwhelmingly Asian population live, dress and conduct themselves. They refer to themselves as Pakistanis, they happily fly the green and white colours of Pakistan and I pretty much guarantee that they will not care about being referred to as Pakistani. Only a total fucking moron can think that Pakistani is a term of abuse. It isn't.

..Just initiating discussion on Flushed, ok, Gobs?... And a 'Pakistani' is fair Game to certain people who turn up, Oooop Norf...No intention of integrating into England's Multi Cultural Society.. So?...Are the Pakistanis Grooming?...No one has answered me yet... I would never, ever use the term 'Paki' as that is a No No...but then 'Paki' is ok to be used in Australia!! You work that fooker out! www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-18045244 eff a Duck??...How many Pakistanis are Grooming Under Age Girls in Shite Northern UK Towns??.... I'm watching Dead Man's Shoes, later...Set in Derbyshire.... It's Fucking Grim...
