18.12.2011 Fenerbahçe - Trabzonspor That's the biggest game suiting your dates...But, I still would recommend 05.02.2011 Fener-Besiktas game if you can...

They try but NOT ! Yes I mentioned March, mistakenly. I have checked the Turkish Football Federation web-site and it says 05.02.2011 for the Besiktas game...You may also check here: www.tff.org/Default.aspx?pageID=198&hafta=25#macso now we can plan your vacation !

Friday night or Saturday morning I guess...
Best look at flights and see what's best...
It's Ataturk airport?...
90+4 equaliser today! How sweet is that!

90+4 equalisers are always sweet !! If only you are behind !
I have my struggle with Exeter in Football Manager, relegated first season...such a shame it was...second season I struggled again because the lack of budget and relegation I lost almost all the players...I had left Archibald, Duffy, Joe Heat from the defence and Lee Sawyer in the mid, oh with the Paul Jones the keeper. Bought talented youngsters so the second season was not a bright one, needed time to settle the tactic 4-3-1-2 and players know each other...3rd year we are playing fine, still some areas to be fixed, got a new Swiss keeper and defender from the U21 team, they both play well but again needing some experience..
I guess we will be fighting for promotion this season, not sure though but the next season I am sure we will be back the NP1 ! Our budget is doing great, we make profits....just for long term success we need to sell some players high value which costed free...I guess we can achieve that! Because the fans keep coming to matches and supporting us, and those youngsters started to perform well !
......
You should choose Ataturk if there is no big price difference, as I mentioned before, flights to Sabiha Gokcen is usually cheaper...So, if you find a cheap ticket to Sabiha book it, but if there is not much difference Ataturk is better in terms of location.

Looks good there, Peps - Thanks for doing that...
I just need any seat and no food is fine
I'll have a good look in the next couple of days and book - how far is Sabiha away and can I get a train nearer you? (Apologies if this is answered above!)

Is that Fenerbache in Real Life or Exeter City on Football Manager?? I am confused!

Sorry for the confusion, that is Exeter on FM...Fenerbahce is doing well in the Super League, no relegation... Sabiha Gokcen is very far from me ;D But you can get tickets half price really. That is the best price I could find. If you can find a nearer price at Ataturk, book it. But if cant, you should book Pegasus at Sabiha...There are buses from Sabiha Gokcen Airport that will take you very close to my work place: Taksim...Note that those are called "Havaþ" buses. The web-site you can find info about those super buses: www.havas.net/en/shuttle-parking/istanbul-sabiha-gokcen-airport/The only thing I am concerned that your landing will be at 04.00 AM in the morning, thus you will be around 5-6 at Taksim. I drive my wife to her academy on Saturday mornings so there is a possiblity that I cant meet you right away your arrival. But, we can arrange your stay in Taksim so while I am driving my love to her place you can have a rest and we can meet around 10 or so... The other option which is the flight on Saturday, arrival hour is 18.35...which seems a bit late. What you say ?

Looks like Sabiha Gokcen's a No Go then?
Best I look for flights to and from Ataturk I think...
The trouble with living away from London - only just over 2 hours on the train - is that it's about £100 return to get to any of the airports in London! Heathrow, Luton, Gatwick or Stansted!
I got confuddled with all the airports and destinations but did see a flight from Bristol which is an hour's drive away from me for £299 return but didn't see which airport it gets into!
More research tomorrow and hopefully some defo' times and dates etc...
Can you just confirm that the match is on the SUNDAY?...5th February 2012?..

There are direct flights Bristol to Ataturk and from experience, it might be the least expensive option even if the flight itself isn't the cheapest. But you know that, TinMan.

I thought Sabiha plan might work very well, those buses which take you to Taksim are very convenient and costs 10 TL, almost nothing.... but I didnt know the problem you had there, being far to the ports....
Make you research and I will also check again for other options.
Yes the game is on Sunday. 05 of Feb...

I hope you mood is better today, Peps? ...Just that I lurked an OP from Baz above...
I hope your moods were nothing to do with the thought of me staying at your place and having to go to a football match together...;-)
After AA's post, I had another look and it appears that Bristol to Ataturk is defo' on....
KLM, via Amsterdam, do flights that take about 7 hours all in....There's also some Air France involvement that I don't quite get..
All flights @ the £300 mark but looks like the best option, all in...
The match is on the Sunday so I could arrive on the Friday, late afternoon, and then fly back on the Monday about midday?
Is that ok with you, Peps?..

Ah, same same..
Ha ha, not at all ! Actually, your visit is giving me a nice opportunity to see a game at stadium, a nice reason, it has been some time since I did that. Staying at my place ? ;D Well, I wish there would be a way to convince mamacura for that.
Anytime on Monday for return is fine...But ! Friday is the busiest day of my job, and it is the only day I cant make out of our work ! Only after 8 PM I can be available !

Yes Grecs, we should find a place for your stay, I will not be available to host you...I hope that does not effect your will to visit ! I am so excited to meet you and take you to a Fener game really. Guys, my doors are also open for any potter any time no doubt...I would also love ALL POTTERS to come and stay at me surely, even at once ! But, the truth is, my partner disagrees ...which gives me tough feelings, but it seems I should respect that for now. There is a close friend of I who is also a sick Fener fan living alone, I will ask him to go to the game together and if he would be available to host you.

My wife seems she is not just in the mood to have a guest, she even refused a visit from her mom last night. Not much to do it seems, I'd love to host you though...
Let me tell you how we could spend our time together when you come here, which may help your decision.
I am working on Saturdays, till 13.00. After organizing your arrival, on Saturday morning, I will take you to my workplace from where you are staying and we will spend around 1 hour in our shop, drink tea or having a breakfast, meeting my father, looking at fabrics if you wish and me doing some job during those. Then we will leave as quick as possible around at 11-12 according to our arrival to the shop...
In the shop, I will be talking with you to understand your mood, what kind of activity you'd prefer at that moment and spend all the afternoon with you taking you around and trying to make you comfortable and enjoying your time.
I will leave you before the evening around 19.00, just after making sure you had something interesting to eat. May be you would prefer to have some rest before the big day ? or meet again later on around 22.00 to visit some bars and look for a lively place ?
On the match day, I will take you for the breakfast and go to Asian side where the Fener Stadium is, we may take the boat where Besiktas fans do, hoping to see some action. Spend all the day there at the Asian side, drinking beer, having "kokorec", visiting Fener museum, ...and such..
...then we will be seeing the game, shouting, yelling and swearing...
and if you leave on Monday, I take you to the airport.
We can have random plans if we feel like to do anything more...
So, shall we look for places to stay which serves fine to your budget ? I guess it will cost you an extra 100 € in total, and I will be buying the food and all the beers !
How's that ?

You are selling it on me, Peps!!
Let me have a think and I'll give you a full answer tomorrow..
Stourbridge V Plymuff is on TV...!
I like what you say above...and the cut of your Jib!
I buy my own Round......but thanks for the offer!

Post by pepecura on Nov 23, 2011 14:18:12 GMT 2
You are welcome !
Ok, that seems not enough....here my last offer !
Apart from all...For the Saturday if the weather is not stormy, we will make a long walk from the place where my work is directly to Taksim, which is a very lively place where you can find history and culture.
From Taksim we will walk down to Karaköy by Istiklal Caddesi...On the way, we will be tasting some beer and after enough ;D beers we will have "kokorec" which serves perfect after alcoholic liquors. See some authentic passages there, and I will show you around...
Walking down we will take may be the oldest subway in the world down to Karaköy. Walking pass the Galata bridge, we can have a couple of beers in the places which are located under the bridge.
Then, we will take our way to old grand bazaar and walk up to Cemberlitas, where we can find our old hamam. It would be great after that tiring walk to have a bath there, got cleaned and relax. We will finish the act with turkish coffee.
All the route will take 3-4 hours to complete, may be more ! and after that, you will be having a great vision of the oldest part of the city and ready for the match day. I think.
How about that ?
Oh, and you should forget about one thing, no way you are buying your rounds. No such system here. ;D
