Well, I was surprised when I read Annies comment and didn't think it was necessary to put this up on the forum. But I think she said it either out of concern or because she was very hurt on that day.
So maybe we should let the two of them sort it out ?

I do sometime wonder about the people who always make excuses for Grecian. I am willing to believe that the person using this persona is as nice in real life as I have been told, but the internet entity is rather consistently mean-spirited and abusive, so somebody please remind me again what is there to defend about this?

Writeon, I am deeply sorry about what happened to you and your step son. This is terrible. I think a lot of people have been hurt by what Annie and Geeky said, no matter if it was intended or not. I wish we could just move on from here, forgive each other and forget. I am saying this as a member of this forum, not as an admin. I am torn between, I like Geeky, I like Annie, I dont want to pick sides.

OK. One last thing before I go farming!
The death of a cousin cannot be equated with the death of a son (or stepson).
That's all I have to say.

ok, I think I need to ask what vicious comment I made as as far as I am concerned, here is what I posted originally:
When Grecian asked me how long I would grieve my cousin for, I replied: "how long would you grieve if your son died? How long is a piece of string". Now maybe I should have asked how long he would have grieved if his sister died, which would have been more appropriate since my cousin and myself were like sisters.
Then Iain asked if I agreed Grecian was a tosser (or words to that effect) and I replied: "I think Grecian suffers from his alcoholism." I went on to describe what too much alcohol does to a human being. Unfortunately, it read as if I were talking about Grecian in particular and should have made this clear I wasn't.
I do not believe any of this is outrageous or vicious. Please let me know if I am wrong.

Who are you to say he is, or is not, an alcoholic? Is it your business to publish this unsubstantiated information on a public internet forum? What was your intention in doing this....did you have kindness in mind? If you are a friend of his why would you want to cast the slur of alcoholism on him whether it's true or not?
As for the other related comments you made, it was very clear that you meant them to apply to Geeky - and what you posted was disgraceful.
So yes, I am letting you know right now that this was outrageous.
This thread has turned into the 'Truth' thread where our characters are well and truly on display.

Many people would think that if Grecian is an alcoholic, that might partially excuse his behaviour. If he behaves this way and is not an alcoholic and does not have any other psychological problem to explain why he acts the way he does, then his behaviour may be even worse than I thought.
And I must say that this contest to see who has the most grief is rather pathetic as well.
I will leave you happy potters to your happy conversation now.

I am sorry HappyT but It doesnt seem and I do not think it is a matter between Annie and Geeky anymore, because I see that others did see this an opportunity to put out what they feel and think about Geeky, and so they did. Even kerouac from APIAS came and valued this opportunity to hit him.
All of us said bad words for Grecian, and everybody knows that to be honest. I do not want to list what humiliation and insult words he read from all of our community, including me. All of those are much much more than what he did if we compare those IMHO.
And I dont blame anybody to attack Geeky, and will not defend him because all of us know his stingy tongue and everybody tasted it at least once. Yes, he is very disturbing sometimes that's true.
And also I do not think it is necessary to dive to find reasons of his behaivours or such, nothing justifies his behaviours here no matter what.
We should define the problem well here to find an healthy solution I think.
And I think the problem here is, some of us are ok with his style and some of us are not. That is that simple. It does not matter who is ok and who is not.
I think the first step to keep the communication open here and to allow to take more steps to solve this problem is:
Everybody should agree on this, If I am not ok with his style I am not going to insult to those who are ok with him and will not be naturally offended by them, and if I am ok with his style I am not going to defend him and insult to those who are not ok with him and will not be offended by them.
Then I am sure all wonderful people here will be able to find an healthy solution.

Well said.
I'm not ok with his style and I don't get anyone who is defending his style/him. I personally just can't imagine that someone who is able to be that mean on an internet forum and being such a bully could be a good person in real life.
However, I agree with pepes words above. I do not need someone like "geeky" on a forum like this and I wouldn't shed a single tear if he'd be banished - but instead of going down the same road that he's using I rather just ignore.

Out of curiousity, how many times has this person "left" under these circumstances and then returned? Somehow,I get the feeling this person will be back. Is this an ongoing pattern with him/her (I see profile says ;'female' but see referenced to as 'he'.)?
