Was chceking out flights and thinking about going to Jakarta for the weekend. Has anyone been there? I'm wondering whetehr I'll have time to do/see much with only the weekend.
I was thinking about booking some trips and today I got a $100 Jetstar voucher if I purchase a return ticket and take the flights before the end of this month - so basically if I went this coming weekend the trip would only cost me about $16. So cheap though I didn't read the fineprint so maybe I can't use the voucher (valid for future trips) against tax or something but it seems like a pretty sweet deal so far..!

I've been there but that was 15years ago....at that time I traveled around Indonesia for a month and from what I remember is that I was fairly unimpressed with Indonesian cities. One reason I'd have to back there is the food, I love, love, love Indonesian food and would just spend all weekend stuffing my face.

I love Indonesian food too but have only been to Sulawesi and Bali. Always fancied stopping off in Jakarta but never got round to it. Anyway, shame your voucher can't take somewhere to dive!!

I went to Yogyakarta (sp?) and saw Borobudur temple on a day trip. That was amazing. Never been to Jakarta.

Yogyajarta is great indeed and the Borobodour alone makes it worthwhile to go there.
