Wishing you all an abundance of health and happiness in 2024. These feel like the absolute,'must haves' to me right now and I hope our lives are filled with both. May the future reward us and make us rich in joy!

This may sound gloomy but it is well meant:
"May you have resilience."
The future? Let's face it. It's tough out there.

The new year didn't have an auspicious start. I had a health whoopsie. Mrs Faz rang the emergency services. It took 20 minutes to get through. After that it was efficient. An ambulance arrived within 15 minutes. Two paramedics came in to examine me, particularly concered I might had a stroke. Mrs Faz rivals Dr Only and assured them it was not. After a lot of tests and speaking to a doctor I was told I had a fever and a virus. Antibiotics were prescribed. 3.45 on New Year's Eve is not a good time for this. The only pharmacy was in the neighbouring town and it closed at 4. Mrs Faz got there in time. The alternative was the hospital 45 minutes drive away and at this time would be full of early revellers doing what drunks do.
I was immobile. I couldn't climb the stairs so I slept in the living room on a sofa bed. I stayed there for 24 hours but I am now feeling much better. So I have climbed the stairs and am in my office (where Auntie Annie has slept twice) so I can wish all Potters a good 2024.

Not a good start, but pleased Mrs Faz was onto it, and best wishes for a quick and full recovery.

Hope your recovery from this virus continues.. may you be able to run up and down those stairs soon! This reminds me of the old joke. "Doctor, will I be able to play the piano after the operation?" "Of course you will." "That's wonderful. I never could before."

Happy New Year to all of you and hopefully 2024 will bring good to all of us and the world. Most of all, more peace and less war.
Baz, are you feeling better?

Thanks, Nin. I am completely over that. Just as well as in 13 days time we shall be in Italy. We fly to Rome and have 3 nights in the eternal city. Then take the train to Lecce which is in the heel of the boot at the southhern end of Italy. We have rented an apartment in a "palazzo" in the centre of town. I think the Italians are generous in describing buildings as a palazzo but it does look nice. The owner is gratified to have a long winter let so we have it at half price.
