This morning I was reading in the paper about all the upsets in a football club (not the players, the men in suits) and I got confused about their titles. In the management structure who does what and what is the pecking order. We have:
President Chairman Non-executive chairman Chief Executive Managing Director General Manager Director of football Sporting Director
(When I worked in advertising the owner decided that he would no longer be known as Managing Director but Chief Executive. We worker bees noticed no difference except he had a new carpet put in his office)

One chairman, one general manager, and one sports director.
