Well, do you? And do you prefer them fried or steamed? Something I realised tonight - once you’ve had a home made dim sim, you don’t want to eat bought ones gain! When I say bought ones, I mean those mass produced ones. They’re horrible.
Such is life…

Here, dim sum refers to the whole Chinese breakfast / brunch experience with small steamers (or plates) full of tasty food being wheeled by on carts in a restaurant full of hungry groups of people talking loudly all at once! I’ll pass on the steamed chicken feet but take the har gow dumplings!

Nowhere in Chipping Sodbury or roundabout has dim sum. However tonight I am making spring rolls and chicken with cashew nuts.
Which reminds me I keep cashew nuts in the freezer (so they are not a temptation and also keep fresh) so I must get them out.

ah, the choice here is poor, but there's a handful of "asian" restaurants with talented chefs of actual far eastern asia origin. They must despair with what passes as asian food here. often they have a page for chinese, a page for thai and a page for vietnamese food...
I digress.. to answer your questions, I prefer the steamed ones. as I find them more delicate/refined.

Love them but only if in a restaurant and preferably in Hong Kong or China. Ours here have been heavily infiltrated with cabbage or beef, items not usually in old style dim sims. I was spoilt as we had expat relatives and stayed with them in both countries and ate magnificent dim sims. The memories may outweigh the actual though.

whenever we visit our san francisco bay area relatives we assemble the nieces and their progeny for a dim sum luncheon... lots of fun and good food, too...

Yep, I do indeed like dim sums. My favourite are the soup dumplings from a Taiwanese restaurant called Din Tai Fung. You pick them up with your chopsticks, place them over your large Asian style spoon, nibble a little hole and drink the soup from it and then put it in your mouth. Delicious! Only sad thing is I haven't eaten there in about a year as I unexpectedly had a rather upset stomach within half an hour of eating there the previous 2 or 3 times, so assume I developed a food intolerance or allergy to something in one of the dishes I used to regularly order.

Tzarine, it is quite popular here in Singapore. They also have restaurants in Hong Kong and I remember one thing on the menu there that they don't have in Singapore which was really nice. I'm curious if the menu stays the same for the US market. In Singapore, there is also Tim Ho Wan which is dim sum from another country (can't remember which) but I personally did not like the taste of it at all.

Dim sims and dim sum are not the same things. Dim dims are either steamed or fried, I like both.

Steamed is my favourite. Last year in our local small town a Chinese restaurant opened that is very good.
