How many more of these will happen before the US government stops easy access to guns made for war? I don’t usually comment as I’m not an American but past of my family is and this is too close to home also

According to Wikipedia:
Mass shootings since Monterey Park (21/22 Jan)
Baton Rouge (22 Jan, 0 dead, 12 Injured) Brookhaven (22 Jan, 1 dead, 3 Injured) Shreveport (22 Jan, 0 dead, 8 Injured)
Mass Shootings so far this year 38 in 22 days. (Criteria for mass shooting differ, in all of the above at least 4 people were shot.) Recorded for 2022: (735 mass shootings, 762 dead, 2902 wounded)
ETA: I apologise but there is no way to be polite about all this: I have previously observed that January is very much part of the off season. Main shooting season is (June - September)

You have all said it better than I could. Thoughts and Prayers just don't cut it. There are people who behave in a criminal fashion in terms of the access to guns made for war.

i mean many of my friends hunt. they are totally respectful. they use the whole deer. others believe in the 2nd amendment & never want the government to be the only ones to have guns.
but who needs Q@W#$%^&*()_+ automatic weapons?
tzar grew up shooting @ targets. we found his late dads guns.
we also have a huge problem w people not getting help for mental illness

I agreew ith tzarine... friends who hunt are responsible gun owners ( and users ). And the 2nd Amendment "believers" have neglected to take in the rest of the line, "in well regulated militia".

Here in Australia where the mentality and views of owning guns is quite different to those of Americans, guns are too easily and readily available in the USofA. If America had stricter gun laws, would every Tom, Dick and Harry be able to have one?

There is a trap here.
I know two related versions of the "other".
The first, or more common, is not particularly relevant in this context; it those others chosen as victims.
The second is relevant. It is the belief that the specific people committing the crimes (atrocities, assaults, murders), are other. We are nice, polite, caring, respectful, and they are other.
