That's what I call my feet. they require quality shoes and even these need to be worn in before I can walk in them. forgot that the other day with a pair of trainers I got in Scotland because they had seemed very comfy at the time... and now I have to wear older shoes to walk in and am "training" my trainers.
For our Netsuke, they are Clark's wavewalk trainers. they will be fab. they are waterproof.but I still have to get them to fit comfortably on my feet.

My left foot is very posh. I think only hand made shoes will do. I am seeing the sarcoma team at the hospital next month so I'll see what they suggest.

I kinda thought of your foot, Baz. may you find a comfortable and elegant solution. Do you think you might find an artisan in Thailand who might do the job? I know that someone in my family was a cobbler. An uncle or great-uncle to my father on his mother's side. we have one piece of equipment left: the thing to work the shoe shape on. that was really random of my dad to collect that. He doesn't care for history/the past...

..... we have one piece of equipment left: the thing to work the shoe shape on. Called a cobbler's last, or shoe last. Were metal, sometimes wood, now probably plastic. A lot of the metal ones were shaped oddly, with three sticky out bits.

cobblers had regular ones in sizes for people with normal feet, and custom ones for their clients with "difficult"feet - which, if nothing else, kept that person cming back every time he needed new shoes, as then he didn't have to pay for another special last to be made.

Ah, your feet certainly sound very posh! I too need good quality shoes but don't need to wear in a sneaker if decent (I usually buy Nike).
There is a local leather shoe brand here called Another Sole and I am pretty sure they guarantee that you don't need to wear them in. They are genuinely good shoes so if they take your fancy and I can help with sizing or shipping, let me know.

I don't have posh feet mine are ugly and getting shoes that are comfortable is a nightmare. If I get a perfect pair I'll go back for another pair or two before fashions change. I also only buy really good quality shoes, and I look after them.

Some companies call a product by a different name depending on location. I couldn’t find any Clark’s wavewalk trainers in Australia. My feet are special too - the nail on my big left toe started growing very thick some years ago and as a consequence my toes hurt when walking if the shoe isn’t high enough over the toes. Now it has started on the right big toe. My doctor told me the medical name which I have long since forgotten, but he said there are two solutions, 1) keep the toenail cut short, or b) remove the nail. He then said he did not recommend removing the nail.
I went to the podiatrist on Friday my feet feel much better now. I always wear flat shoes, a pair of sandals for weddings and such has a heel not too high and I can wear them with ease because they are open toed.
Sneakers or trainers I wear only sometimes. I like my ankle boots which are from Portugal, and soft leather loafers and thongs. Thongs are standard Australian wear for warmer weather.

That’s called a G-string here. I have oft wondered at the comfort of those things, I mean wouldn’t that narrow piece at the back give you a wedgie?

Yes, I know the term gangbanger from all the US cop shows I've watched! 😂
The term g-banger come from the fact that Aussies call the underwear in question a G-string. If you think about it, it does take the shape of a capital letter G.
