Back in early November I booked to go to Greece in June. I thought that was Covid safe. (Maybe). Today I got an email from EasyJet changing the return flight time by nearly 10 hours. No, I don't want to arrive at Gatwick at midnight because we'd have to spend the night at an airport hotel. Our outward flight leaves from our local airport Bristol so I just checked on the chance they had also changed flight times there which would make that a good alternative. Our outgoing flight is 4th June _ I have the print-out in front of me. This afternoon when I checked EasyJet no longer has a flight on 4th June. It flies on 6th June. They have never contacted me about the change.
I am still stunned and haven't decided what to do.

Question Baz - I'm not sure from what you've said as to if the check you made on the 4th June flight is from looking at their flights on their web page or directly from going in to your booking and finding it has been changed. I suspect the latter but not sure. I've had the same situation a number of times whereby the airline have changed the flight and not told me. Not just the budget airlines but Ethiopian, Kenya, Egypt, Jordanian, Latam and Iberia. I remember them all and have learnt to check my bookings regularly. Before Covid we flew a lot and I often had multiple bookings for us and the family hanging around.
Once with Emirates they did notify me (it was actually a flight for our daughters to Zambia) of the flight change and I looked on their webpage to find alternatives. I saw the original flight was still scheduled and then tried to book it but without going all the way to paying. Yes, I could do that - fortunately the Emirates office was about 400m away from where we lived, so I shot in there and asked them about it. They had no idea why it had been changed and put the girls back on the original flight.
What to do - your choice but if their flights aren't convenient now at all maybe change the accommodation and change to their flights that are, if any. Should be free. Or get a voucher from Easyjet or a refund. I'm sure you know all this. Best bet is to ask Mrs Faz and then just do exactly as she suggests.
I'm flying back to Bosnia in a couple of days and just got my covid result back this morning - negative as expected. The odd thing is theoretically, I don't need a PCR test to enter, but for 49 euro I'm playing safe as it only takes one security/customs/immigration/cleaner/check in person to not know that and they can cause me quite a bit if grief until they agree, or not.

Thanks Mark
The outward flight on 4 June has been changed to 6 June. This is on the EasyJet website. They have not emailed us though they did email a time change by a couple of hours 2 months ago. But the actual cancellation of the 4 June flight has never been told to us. There is instead a flight 2 days later (which again they haven't told us about). This is not acceptable anyway as it would mean a 10 day break being squeezed to 8 days and the rebooking of 3 hotels.
The return flight is to Gatwick and that has also changed and it was what we were told about yesterday Now the flight arrives at Gatwick at 10.55 pm, 9 hours later than our original booking. By the time we have deplaned and gone through all formalities it will be midnight so we will need a hotel at Gatwick for the night. This is also not acceptable.
We already have about £300 of vouchers with EasyJeet so I'll go for a refund. This requires filling out different forms for both Mrs Faz and me for both flights - 4 forms. I'll do that later today.

That's another question then, as it's a long while since I used not so Easyjet - "...4 forms." - you can book return flights for two people on one booking reference which means if you want to cancel the whole lot of flights it is just one refund application. But if you've booked each leg for each person separately you need to claim for each leg for each person to cancel the whole lot. Unless - there is something I don't know/understand about your circumstances or something about the Easyjet policies..

Under the Refund rules as I understand them each person has to claim separately though the refund money goes to the person who paid. And the return flight is to a different airport from the dparture airport so each flight has to be claimed.

Since I wrote this morning EasyJet has emailed me to say the 4 June flight to Athens has been cancelled. Well thanks, I worked that out yesterday.

I remember a long time ago, they refused to refund the tix of my then boyfriend's sister. Her and her husband had arranged tickets to Barcelona or somewhere like that that would have been their honeymoon, and they had planned it for a couple months after the wedding as they were aware of how complicated things were with the whole changing name thing. he died a few days before the trip was due and were real morons to my friend. They refused to refund even though a death certificate was produced. So my friend moved the trip later, went with a close friend and they did not change the tickets for free. disgusting!

EasyJet made the process difficult but I have got the tickets refunded (well, it will take a couple of weeks to see the money in my bank account). I only had to do two refund processes. I'm glad it wasn't four because to prove I wasn't a robot (?) I had to do tricky things like look at a photograph of a crossroads marked into 12 squares and say which squares showed traffic lights. I guess the photo was taken in some third world country where there were electricity or telephone cables everywhere, stop signs, lamp posts and road signs. I spotted the traffic lights and ticked off 3 squares. What was that thing in a fourth square just above the traffic lights? I decided it was a flagpole and EasyJet hoped I would fail and I would be denied a refund. But I passed. That was thr first refund photo test. The next one I had to spot the bicycle. This was a street scene with no traffic...except what was that lurking in a corner? I decided it was the wheel of a cart or possibly a rickshaw but NOT a bicycle. I was right! Admitting defeat EasyJet said they would go ahead with my refund.

baz, we have to use the anti-robot dialogue to access our u.s. bank account so i've gotten pretty used to them... i don't think that they are that concerned about the accuracy of the pick... rather randomization to weed out robots...

Aaargh, I spoke too soon about getting a refund. EasyJet have emailed me to say that since I used a voucher to book the Atehns flight I couldn't have a refund, only another voucher. At least they are adding £10 to the voucher.

I’m surprised you’re still able to book flights. Nobody has been coming in or going out from here. Sadly that will change soon, the government in it stupidly will be allowing people back into the country. If I was Prime Minister, I’d keep the buggers out.

The interesting thing is that every time I get a voucher EasyJet gives me £10. So far I have only £20 extra in vouchers but I am wondering whether I could book more flights, cancel them and get a £10 voucher every time.

Netsuke, you cannot compare the situation in Europe and in Australia. I agree that travelling for holidays at this time may not be the best policy, but without international transport in Europe, nothing functions.
