I am laughing at your common language issues.
This morning I went food shopping. This afternoon I had a skype session with a friend. We should have used zoom as the link kept freezing. Now I'm thinking of what I have to get ready for tomorrow.

here it is a new week - so i shall be busy preparing laptops: installing MS Office which entails making sure each laptop is fully updated for windows, then logging onto the microsoft download site and downloading the up-to-date full stand-alone version (we don't use the subscription version [365] as then they will have to pay eventually).

We seem to have done a whole day already. First it was trying to get rid of an unwanted spam. Because the spam was to do with money I tried to get in my bank account. Telephoned bank and then it went mute. Because we are transferring all passwords etc to Bitwarden tried to get in there. Couldn't. Found details in Bitwarden under different name. Got that right. Got into bank account. Nothing amiss. But the scramble has taken up an hour. I'm glad I finished my week's monitoring of blood pressure as I'm sure it it high. It's Mrs Faz's turn with the BP monitor but I think she is leaving a reading for an hour.
In a few moments we'll have our delayed walk. Bugger. It is now raining.

Got up late, got my yoga done, shower, breakfast. Two lots of laundry. Made a gateau for my brother (special dietary requirements), which is still baking as I type. Had lunch with my parents delicious pot roast (I think that's what you'd call them)

After I handed the cake over to my brother, I joined my parents for their walk and once they were safely on the way back home, I resumed my walk for a while longer. I walked on the road across the vineyards between two nearby villages, then back down home. Now, I'm quietly planning my week.

Before yoga, I got my clean and dry laundry from the laundry room and took the opportunity to bring my parents' laundry to their flat.
After yoga/shower/breakfast, I tidied up a bit and cleaned the fridge. Now I'm about to start cooking for lunch.
I want to go enjoy the sunshine early afternoon and then I might make some chutney.
I have to hoover and tonight I might iron.

The big radiator in our sitting room stopped working (no, it didn't need bleeding) so yesterday the man came to fix it. Hooray. This morning it is not working again. He said the whole system needs draining. I wonder when that will happen.
Today is when we record the talking newspaper for the blind. The recording studio has been Covid-closed for nearly a year so we have been recording in our bedroom. Unfortunately the neighbour's dog barks continuously all day when she is at work. I can hear the silly little yapper even in my study. We'll record in the dining room.
After the recording and Mrs Faz sending it off to the techie who will send it out to the blind folk we'll have a walk. I must go to the pharmacy to collect meds. We will check the litter bins in the town carpark. There are 2 bins, Although it is the capark the council insisted on when Waitrose got their planning application approved the council is not responsible for the bins; the Waitrose man does not like emptying them; to stop the mess when the bins are overflowing we do it. After the bins are emptied I'll do the supermarket shop.
That's the morning gone.
I am just filling in time now while Mrs Faz selects the articles I'll read from the local paper. I need a couple of read-throughs because they are so appallingly written I need to make corrections. You'd think Leanne Woodruff (the reporter) would read through her own copy.
I have just looked out of the window and the rain has passed and the sun has peeped out.

Send the article back to the reporter with corrections highlighted in red. And keep doing it.

Send the article back to the reporter with corrections highlighted in red. And keep doing it. Mrs Faz actually tried to ring the reporter today. Her phone was cut off. The newspaper office telephone wasn't answered either. We couldn't spend any more time chasing her up as I pick up the local paper at breakfast time and our recording has to be in by midmorning. The recording is now done. My lead story was about the local council budget (Woodword and Bernstein it ain't). The piece was 350-400 words. I made 18 changes. Some were basic writing errors (repeating a word in the next sentence - in this case she said the budget was "rising" twice; so easy to write the budget was "going up" the second time). Other things that got out my blue pencil were the bureaucratic phrases that were simply copied from the press release.

Another thing. Because we are recording this for blind people we describe any photos. If the story is actually in Chipping Sodbury our local photographer is pretty good. If th story is in our neighbouring town of Yate the photo is usually awful. The budget story I moaned about had a photo of the council building; superimposed in a circle on the left was a piggy bank surrounded by coins. At first I thought it was a balloon.

I have finally got tin foil on the table, and the crazy glue and the 4 broken things that have been sitting around for ages... they will either end the day fixed - or in the trash.

This morning Mrs Faz went to the optician; I amde a picnic. Then we drove to Newark Park, a National Trust property. The day had started sunny but when we go there it was cloudy with a strong wind. We found a bench and moved it to the shelter of a wall. After our picnic Mrs Faz went for a walk and I read the paper. When we got back to Chipping Sodbury we dealt with a sign saying Happy Birthday that had been put on a roundabout a month ago. The sign was made out of plywood so Mrs Faz bent it over while I stood on it to break it in half to fit it in a bin.

Today, I'm going to try and listen to the training course videos I need to listen to by the end of the week. Not easy with the nearby building site's noise...
