When I was in El Salvador I had Tic Tac. I was misled because on the label it said it was El licor nacional. Poor Salvadoreans. It was foul. Today in the supermarket I saw vodka made from quinoa. This seemed a bit dubious to me and to everybody else because it was reduced from £34 to £13. I bought a bottle. I am letting it mature for another week before I try it.

maybe if the taste is not as good, you could make bloody mary cocktails with it?

i am wondering if all vodka is really made of potatoes. my russians friends keep telling me that vodka is just high % alcohol watered down to aprox 40%. If you keep that in mind. it doesn't really matter on what the alcohol is based on, or?

Not all Russian vodka is 40% alcohol. We bought some at a dutyfree shop that was 60% alcohol.

On a tour of the Mekong delta, my friend and I were the only ones who accepted to taste the snake wine (yes, with the snake in the bottle). All of the other members of the group looked on in disgust.
