I like signs and sayings, be they pithy, humourous, wise, consoling, motivational or just plain silly.
There are times when the written word can help pull someone back from the brink of despair. ..There are times when somebody may have been unkind and wise words help you feel better. ..There are times when the written word can cause you to break out in spontaneous laughter.
So, I'm starting a thread and will (try) and post a TFTD (Thought For The Day) every day. All Potters are welcome to post their thought of the day, and while not de rigueur, will be greatly appreciated. The only rule is one thought per post only, and attributation if known. Thank-you.
So, that being said....
Man who spend time in cathouse, end up in doghouse ~ Confucius.

"Apparently, 1 in 5 people in the world are Chinese. There are 5 people in my family, so one of them must be. It's either my mum or my dad. Or my older brother Colin. Or my younger brother HoChaChu. But I think it's Colin."

Marriage is like a workshop. The husband works, the wife shops. This is going back some years when I lived in France. My (then) wife was devoutly Christian so anybody Christian was welcomed to a meal or to stay in the guest house or park their caravan for weeks. We had a Christian visitor from England to a meal, a woman I had never met before. It got to midnight and she showed no sign of leaving. I got up from the dinner table and announced I was going to bed as I had to work in the morning. This woman was not pleased and said, "Well, I'm working tomorrow too." She was on holiday from England so I asked: "What work are you going to do?" She was taken aback by this direct challenge. After some thought she said: "I am going shopping."
