Baz, I thought I had replied to your question about the "stuffed puff pastry sunshine".
take a ready-rolled-out round puff pastry dough. spread something such as tapenade, or dried tomato paste or pesto or something like that on it. put a second ready-rolled-out round puff pastry dough on top of the other one. hold a glass tumbler in the middle of the round puff pastry dough "sandwich" cut "rays" from the edge of the glass tumbler to the edge of the dough. twist the "rays"individually bake in the oven
(you could add some egg yolk to make it shiny I guess)
serve with aperitives when cooled. i.e. people take the "rays" and towards the end you can divide the heart of the "sun".
