He suffered for a long time, battled on much longer than anyone expected. RIP Patrick.

Husband was annoyed that the radio only mentioned Dirty Dancing and Ghost. "Point Break" he was muttering at the radio at 6am. I did try and explain that he wasn't the lead in that film, but it all went over husband's head.
Very sad

A big loss for sure. Great dancer. And yes, he was hot. MissA, your husband is very right about Point Break. He's just as fun to watch in that movie as he is in Dirty Dancing.

What about "To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar" (1995)
He was an incredible transvestite.
He was also a good, kind, thoughtful person.

Sad but?
What has he done since Point Break?
Is Dirty Dancing 'Really' all he will be remembered for?
Like I say; sad as feck but....get Real a tad?

Welcome, precious. It just wouldn't be the same without you and your constructive criticisms.
Everything is real. Everything is bullshit. That's my motto.
Go with the flow but put a bend in the river now and again.
Gawd! I'm soooo deep.

"The Outsiders" ! In the shops I frequently saw the tabloids who were still hunting him wherever he went, speculating how much longer he'd live. It was rather disgusting. Not a big fan of Patrick but people deserve to be left alone and die with dignity instead of being followed by paparazzi.

Yeah, Welle. Great foto.
Just want y'all to know that my son Patrick looks so much like Patrick S it's uncanny. Everyone mentions it on meeting him.
I'm not nearly as cute.

I've just read a headline of an online paper that translates in: If God is a woman, she is now dancing with Patrick Swayze
How cute !

I think women 'mourn' him. Men don't.
You look at his body of work, and he's not actually been in many good films. The Outsiders was probably easily his best, and I can't think of any others which even come close to be average.
People are too desperate and too eager to call anybody 'Great' just because they were in the public eye for a while as a celebrity. THAT's sad.

EYE CANDY! That is what he was!
I don't mourn him, I feel for his family as I know that he was just human as are they and they have lost a husband, father son, brother etc.

You know what I mean.
Sure, he was a human being, and had a family, and that's a tragedy. But it's THEIR tragedy. Just because he was famous, some people (not you, no) treat it like some sort of grief porn. It's a sad reflection of society.

I do know what you mean and quite frankly it does sicken me. "Lucky" for his family he died of an illness, I hate the way that celeb families get hounded when someone has died from a drug overdose, suicide etc. their lives are really difficult enough without the added stress.
I read an article recently and it said something about John Travolta "still" struggling with the loss of his child and they went on to analyse shy he was still struggling with it, well he is still grieving ffs.
(Sorry my soap box, I'll get off it now)

LOL, everybody true to form. Point Break was a great movie, as was Dirty Dancing. I've never seen ghost.
I do find it refreshing that he hasn't had a million affairs and actually honored his wedding vows. He was also a great horseman.

How do you KNOW he hasn't had affairs ? Maybe he was just never caught.
Point Break was macho bullshit.
Dirty Dancing soppy bollocks.
Roadhouse, well, see Point Break .....

LOL gyro, true, maybe he had affairs-but usually the media catches on pretty quickly. So he probably didn't. I'm sure the microscope of the press was on him at most times. Agree with Point Break being macho bullshit. But oh so fun. And Keanu Reeves displays some of the worst acting ever. It's hilarious to watch just for that, he's so unconvincing, you'd think he did it on purpose. Dirty Dancing is soppy bollocks-and again really fun. Who doesn't love dancing and Patrick Swayze without a shirt Well, ok, if I was a straight male I probably wouldn't.
