Do you remember when Lonely Planet wrote eccentric but useful guide books? And had the internet site Thorn Tree where lots of us met? Does anyone use LP and TT any more?
I got an email from LP this morning with holiday suggestions based on the zodiac. I am a Leo so LP says I like to "light up dance floors" (Mrs Faz could offer a different opinion). Leos are "also big softies who crave true romance". Perhaps this is why they suggest I go to Argentina. Apparently Buenos Aires will give me opportunities "to get up to no good" and enjoy "an amorous interlude with a mysterious stranger".
Hmm. Doesn't Norwegian Air have cheap flights from London to Buenos Aires now?

Lp has my birth date wrong... mm no idea why? So I'm off to Iceland. No expense spared by them obviously as its super expensive from this part of the world. I'm still capable of getting up to some mißchief so perhaps should change my date of birth and see what comes up, .

You lot were obviously more important pipples on the old thorn tree or mixed with the higher echelons of LP Society.
They don't send ME any zodiac suggestions...Sob...flounces off...boo hoo..s'not fair.

I try to visit the Thorn Tree from time to time. I don't even recall what nasty thing they did to make us all flee (except for finally clamping down on 'Your Choice' and other such aberrations). But it is kind of sad that nobody ever went back there. Now that the BBC is gone, the mods and the management are quite reasonable -- but there are no users.
