Using step by steps that Scrubb has provided. but first some background
As some of you ( all of you ?) know, the guy I lived with in New Guinea , 50years ago, reestablished contact last winter, and I went out to Oz for the month of August, first meeting our wonderful Kuskiwi, and then going up to Ian - where is is now retired and living on N Stradbroke Island , off Brisbane. After 4days there, we went back to New guinea ! When we were there, and until 1975, he was a "Kaip" - patrol officer, and up the ladder to Assistant District Commissioner. He married and had 4 kids, and when they left they bought and rean a cattle and sheep station in NSW. And, he was one of the founding partners of the most successful company servicing oil and mineral exploration companies - including owning charter aircraft and barge companies. I had no idea what an important person he was in PNG- until we went back ! In both Mt Hagen ) near where we had lived ) and later in Port Moresby, we were given housing by his old company, and a car and driver in both. And everywhere we went, employees and just about everyone , greeted him with joy.
Before I left I found someone to digitize my 50year old slides, and took them on a thumb drive for Ian.
this becomes important when we actually did get out to "our " valley, as, unbeknownst to me, he printed a bunch of them out and brought them. I will intersperse some of them - to show the differences and samenesses ...
always assuming I can get the pics to load here...
