I found this and thought it sounded good... it WAS ! And of course the original got thrown out in the cleanup. but this will be close enough to work preheat oven to 375F 3Tsps Extra Virgin Olive oil 6 or so smallish yellow onions 3 Tsps dark brown sugar 8 oz mushrooms 1/2 C (or more) chopped walnuts some crumbled blue cheese ( used feta - came out fine ) package frozen puff pastry in an oven proof skillet - heat the oil, cut the onions vertically into halves or quarters and place in the oil, until the bottoms start to turn brown add the brown sugar - when it starts to melt add in the mushrooms - cut chunky - or just stemmed if small and the nuts ( I used more than 1/2 C, and they were pecans... put some bit of cheese on the top - cook for about 5-7 minutes over medium heat roll out the defrosted pastry to a circle a bit bigger than the skillet, and lay over the mixture and tuck the edges down the sides bake 35 min - and carefully invert onto serving plate. ( if not completely caramelized - put back in the oven for 5-10 min. Notes from me: it looks lovely and a warm brownish - with the puff pastry all around.. and is seriously yummy - every one wanted the recipe ! They say appetizer, I served it as one of the vegs ( as one guest was vegetarian ) but I think in future I'll have it as a first course.

this is of great interest to me. I have been wracking my brain for a word starting with c in relation to the chopped walnuts. can you bring me out of my misery? it seems like a perfect meal with some salad. although I might want to make another type of pastry for it.

can't help with the "C" word ... but the puff pastry thing works so well with the turning it upside down thing. I guess regular pastry would work just as well.?

Sounds interesting. I'll see if Waitrose has character walnuts. Do you have blue feta? I guess feta is an alternative to blue cheese.

cup, I assume? Why would "c u p" turn into character?

Ah, I see. The letter cee by itself becomes character.

"c" is obviously a naughty letter.

I was just testing to see if putting it inside "" would fool the censor.

yes - sorry - us Merkins still use the olde Englishe measures.. Cup it is ! and, no, we don't have blue feta, I just had some regular feta and it seemed like an ok substitute - it was . also, looking at the above - between cook for 7 minutes and roll out the pastry -- duuuuh... set it to cool !

I was just experimenting. I could type the naughty letter 3 times and the censor allowed it. Then I tried to edit it by removing 2 of the naughty letters but the censor got strict and wouldn't be tricked.
