Occasionally I look at Get Stuffed on TT. Today I found an interesting thread on foods you will not eat (or eat again).
I declined fried crickets being sold on a Thai train. But also in Thailand I did eat some wriggling white grubs that a woman knocked down from a tree. They tasted almost lemony. Mrs Faz looked askance at me because it meant that she had to try them too. I have eaten raw horse (as steak tartare). In the Philippines I had some unpleasant sort of fermented fish. Thankfully I was never offered balut (an egg with a nearly ready to be born chick inside). In England I was served some ox heart that had been pressure cooked with no additional flavourings, and I hope not to be expected to eat that again.

I will not eat seafood like cockles, mussels, whelks, oysters etc nor snails or prawns or octopus/squid type things, nor will I eat fatty meat. It's because of the texture. Weirdly enough, if when I bite something, if it is at all rubbery and I don't get a clean bite through, it brings out a gag reflex.

Mrs Faz's daughters won't eat mushrooms because of their slippery texture. My daughter, aged 9, didn't even have to put a mushroom in her mouth. She looked at one and said: "I don't like that. What is it?"

I have previously eaten balut in the Philippines (several times) as well as barbecued intestines - they both tasted good but I wouldn't be so adventurous again. I've also eaten snails and cockles etc which agai, tasted quite good, but I wouldn't go out of my way for them again. Just remembered that I ate a random bird shot from the sky and then barbecued in the Philippines as well - seems silly now as who knows what it was. I have also eaten a whole pigs face (snout, ears etc) which was diced and fried with spice which was quite tasty. Also had brains in a soup (think they were from a goat) and a few fish eyes. Being older now, I am less adventurous and probably wouldn't try these things again despite having willing eaten (and in some cases sought out) these things years ago.
I've also eaten crocodile, alligator, possum, kangaroo, emu...
The only thing I've ever declined was barbecued rat (in Laos) and dog (in Korea).

I suspect I've had dog ( street stalls in Asia in the 60s and early 70s). the Balut would put me off. I'm sure I would turn down that fish in Japan that can kill you instantly if it's "just" wrong.. As Lumi says, I've eaten a ton of things that I probably wouldn't eat again. And if I have my druthers I'll never eat Rutabaga again. I just hate the smell and taste. I think the Europeans are smart, they call it swede and feed it to animals.

We were in Vietnam during Tet (New Year). You'd think restaurants would do a great trade with celebrating diners But in fact all the restaurants in town were closed except one. We ate there every night. The menu was in Vietnamese and we only knew the generic words for pork, beef, chicken etc not what the actual dishes were. Usually a diner who spoke English would help us out but one might we were without any bilingual help. So I pointed at a dish on the pork page about half way down and a dish on the chicken page. The waiter nodded and went off. When he returned he put down a grilled pig's tail and a string of unlaid eggs from a chicken. The meal was not a great success.

Mashed swede with lashings of butter and pepper is great. If the spuds looked like running out before the next season we ate swede instead.
We were dished chickens at the just before hatching stage while in China. Wasn't my finest meal.

our worst meal in china was in a minorities tribe area where we were served frogs legs... the problem was twofold: they still had their flippers and they still had their skin i peeled and tasted one - and it was bland and tasteless, so wasn't worth overcoming the aesthetic barrier...

actively avoiding unfermented soya products. but otherwise, there isn't much I won't eat. Although haven't been offered the various "exotic" options you lot have.

I don't think there's anything that I would refuse to eat, but in general I avoid prunes and most other dried fruits.
I ate a marinated raw snake salad in the Mekong delta.

I declined a scorpion on a stick in China. I was not very hungry though.
Recently I declined a cereal topping made up out of ground crickets. Apparently they are very healthy. I couldn't help but think of how many crickets must have died to make that powder which made me loose my appetite. Again, I wasn't very hungry. There's not much I wouldn't eat if I was really hungry.
Japanese natto and English marmaid (spelling?) are on my no go list. Disgusting. In England I tried to feed the marmaid to the dog under the table but it wouldn't eat it!

I think Welle was cruel trying to feed a mermaid to a dog under the table.

I'm thinking you mean Marmite (revolting stuff) and that being the case, I'm not surprised the dog wouldn't eat it. Oh Welle, how could you treat a poor, wee doggie so? What foods will I not eat? I hate cauliflower in white sauce, raw meat, eggplant, chilli, curry. Not keen on brussel sprouts (Bloody Brussels!) but will eat them if smothered in yummy gravy. Bananas, smelly cheese - that Lebanese cheese, stinks. Tongue and brains - yewk, makes me want to puke. "Delicacies" such as insects, grubs, and other creepy crawlies so beloved in Asian countries.
