Here is where you can post your most seductive photos of food. Last night we had friends round for dinner, A jolly evening was had by all. Mrs Faz was the recorder of what we ate. This was the starter, The mushrooms were stuffed with chorizo and dates. There are little roundish patties of crab on broad bean leaves. They alternate with chicory (or endive if you are French) leaves with a purée of feta and walnuts. This is the main course served with new potatoes. It is the asparagus season. Of course supermarkets sell asparagus all year imported from Peru but it is best to have it grown locally and in season. So under the tent of asparagus is lamb cooked in a purée of asparagus. We follow the French style and have the cheese before the dessert. These are all British cheeses, a couple made just over the border in Wales. For dessert I made a tart. The pastry case is filled with chocolate ganache with rings of toasted hazelnuts. It is surrounded by local strawberries. Bon appétit.

Please identify the cheeses. The one at the top is a blue Shropshire. At 3 o'clock the long white one is a goat cheese matured in Wookey Hole. At 9 o'clock it is a Timsworth (I think that is correct), a goat pyramid from Wales. At the bottom is another Welsh cheese called something like Grenau (but I can't be arsed to go downstairs to look at the bill). Do I pass?

Mmmm, a feast for the eye as well as the mouth, Baz! I never think to take pictures of food, and presentation is not my strong suit anyway, but I do have a bowl of laksa that pleases me: [/IMG]

I shall look out for goat pyramids, in Wales and elsewhere.

I shall look out for goat pyramids, in Wales and elsewhere. You can find them at the Fine Cheese Company's shop if you ever pass through Bath.

It must be a very large shop or very small goats.
