For the first time since moving to Switzerland I found time to make Spätzle. It's the German or more specifically Swabian version of homemade pasta. Oh, yummy!! I wante to all of what I made and had a hard time to follow up with the plan of stocking the freezer. Spätzle recipe

oh, I love spaetzle! I'll have to check, but my mom seems to whip them up in no time at all.

That recipe looks really delicious. I haven't had spaetzle since I left Switzerland - more than 20 years ago!

In the US I was able to find ready made Spätzle at a German store or at a world market, but usually a a hefty price. In case you have the proper device - the spaetzle grater - it is not too much work. I tend to make a lot and then put them in the freezer. The fresh made ones are so much better than store bought ones.

the Swiss in the UK all get theirs from Aldi/Lidl when they have it. I must ask mom to prepare some for me. She cuts hers with a knife, on a wet plate/board, over the pan of boiling water. The way her mom taught her.
